Forrest made two trips to hide the treasure. I can’t understand why? If all he was doing was hiding a treasure chest - why two trips. The finder would only make one trip to retrieve it surely. So in total the package was 42 lbs. not THAT heavy for someone with a good rucksack.

I have often wondered that. I am wondering if he needed to carry something in addition to the chest, something that was required to hide the chest or mark the area.

If my solve is correct. Which is highly unlikely. I would say it was equipment to conseal the chest with say- an adobe style covering, like the Pubelo bricks. Or scenic embellishment like a rock shaped like a bear maybe?

In my solve he can drive almost the whole way there. Then he has to climb a steep hill - by climb I mean hike uphill, but a steep hill. So he's old and the climb is hard and he made two trips. Oh yeah, he only had to walk 500-600 FEET from his car in my solve. He's on a Forest Road and he's in a remote area and he's in the rockies and all that other stuff.. it's just that he didn't have to hike or camp or do any outdoorsy stuff to hide it.
