Important to tell the truth, just not the whole truth

I always wondered about that part. I wonder what "whole truth" was not being told. What subterfuge is Forrest aluding to. Here are a few.
The Apollo Program: did you hear about how Nazis were the first to put a man on the moon? The man just happened to be an American. The often hushed truth behind NASA was the use and leadership of Nazi rocket scientists brought over after WW2. Werner vonBraun was a member of the Nazi party and responsible for working many Jews to death in the production of German rockets. You might say he was like a scissor tail, needed to be cleaned up real well to pass him off for consumption. Operation Paperclip brought great numbers of Nazi scientists over after the war.
Buffalo Bill burial location:
It is likely that he is buried in Colorado as advertised. However there has been a persistent rumour that his friends (one named Frost) swapped the body and buried him in his desired location looking down on the town of Cody Wyoming that he founded. I went down that rabbit hole for a long time wondering if Forrest knew where and planned to throw his body and the chest in the same location.
The Statue of Liberty: this one is timely. Largely unseen and unknown, the feet of the statue are breaking free of chains. This was in celebration and recognition of the emancipation of slaves. The "bring us your huddled masses" was a later addition. In a way this statue has been saying black lives matter to millions of visitors every year. The broken chains were originally to be in the left hand but were moved to the feet because the political climate was to controversial. So the chains are now almost invisible given their position on the pedestal.
Likely wrong, but I can't help but think Forrest was leading us to a greater revelation than the site of one of his favorite fishing holes. The timing of the hiding, immediately following the DoJ Eagle crushing his chest with its olive branch...that is the Department of Justice whose emblem is an Eagle carrying an olive branch, investigated him and many of his business partners and friends for illegal trade in antiquities.
Anyone else think this about more than the treasure?
