Those who have followed and commented on my rainbow theory may find this of some interest. In this article you will read about the Omega and its relationship with the Zodiac. You will also see the 'Ouroboros', symbol of cyclical change and its depiction of the 'Dragon Coat Bracelet' allaboutheaven.org/symbols/omega/123I hope the link works. I am sending through the 'Zodiac Teaching Wheel' image also, so that you can see exactly what I have been talking about. I think you will see it bears out a lot of what I have been talking about. indigo

If you have looked at the 'Zodiac Teaching Wheel' and 'All about Heaven' link you must surely have noticed the Omegas at the beginning and the end of the Rainbow. They appear in Sign 1 'Aries' and at the end in Sign 7 'Libra', the beginning and the end. 7 is a lucky number, and the Omega is upside down like a horseshoe which you hang upside down to keep your luck in. You can write RAINBOW from 1 to 7 going clockwise. My 'Reason for the two Omegas' thread relates to this fact. The use of only one Omega in the revised edition of 'OUAW' does suggest to me that the beginning had been found, but the end was yet to be found. I did get to the end.
My belief was that the 'secret 'W' needed to be revealed as it is part of the ending clue. 'W' is the end of Forrest's rainbow IMO. The end requires some imagination, however Forrest's mention of 79 at the beginning of his book does tie into the atomic number for Gold. It could possibly relate to the words:
'RAINBOW' 7 letters and 'TREASURES' 9 letters giving us 79 GOLD and also a possible title to the Gold namely:
'RAINBOW TREASURES' using each word in turn written around the Zodiac to give clarification to the puzzle's ending. IMO numbers would be how that would manifest itself. It certainly did for me.
'NUMBERS' is a book in the Old Testament connected with Moses, and 'ALPHA AND OMEGA' appears in the book of 'REVELATION'
'REVELATION' means to reveal something that was secret. 'NUMBERS REVELATION' just an extra to consider. You will see that numbers do appear in the end as part of the solution of course I have to mention IMO.

I think I'm more fascinated by your mind than your solve. I hope that's not a bad thing.

I think I'm more fascinated by your mind than your solve. I hope that's not a bad thing. Haha, well I guess that's something 'goldwatch'. On a more serious note though if your solution led you to a circular cistern in the ground which was the blaze, how would you go about making sense of it. Where would you look? The circle has to be another puzzle at the end. In other words is the treasure based on one of the Zodiac signs on the circumference, there are 12 of them, or is it inside somewhere. How would you interpret it? If I told you that I believe the bracelet was buried in the exact center of the cistern and with it were instructions to where the chest was would you believe it possible? You have to ask yourself about the discovery of a constellation laid out in the geometry on the map, and why so many night skies in the book, in particular a young Forrest sat upon a gravestone looking up at the stars on a dark night with no moon, and the stars all over the covers of OUAW. It would not take a lot of imagination to believe that Forrest intended you to use the circle as if it were the Zodiac wheel IMO. What would you do with that information 'goldwatch'. Would be interested in your thoughts on it. indigo.

We know that the poem leads "precisely" to the treasure, so you need something from the poem that does that. I have my best luck when I clear my head (a tough thing to do), and just sit down and think about that particular place/thing (the cistern, in this case). Logic that includes imagination. If that's your "Blaze", then logically "look quickly down" come right into the thoughts, as you have done. But don't exclude anything outside of the cistern yet. "Your quest to cease" is a hard one because, you know, what the H does that mean? lol If you're on your way to the end, how much farther is it? So it just doesn't help in that context. My solve was in a different place and doesn't have a cistern. So, I think, that's about all I can help with.

Having seen the photos of the chest's retrieval we can assume it was found in a pine forest, probably by the base of a tree who knows. If so then this puzzle cannot in any way lead you to a specific tree in a forest of many. it only takes you to the cistern circle. I believe Forrest constructed the puzzle to take you to something he could make work and the circle would be perfect and accurate for that. So what I am saying is this, the circle contained his Silver bracelet probably in something Bronze and within it were the directions to the chest itself and where to look and what to look for. Forrest played upon his quote that the chest was not under water ok? but it does not rule out that something was under water in the cistern. If people fell on the cistern they would discount it right away, but he may have buried something else there, thus protecting the whereabouts of the chest itself, these kind of things have been done before. You had to believe what you were taken to and go with it. Forrest did say he was going to make it work, and this way I believe he did. Although it goes against public opinion amongst searchers there was a proxy item you had to find. The chest photo shows no water or wetness and yet Forrest says his bracelet was wet when found. We should have seen it at the top of the chest but it was not there, it was on his arm. I believe that Forrest built a lot of misdirection into this puzzle and his continued involvement in it muddied the waters even more IMO. You had to have faith in what you saw in the poem and the book to believe it fully.

You had to have faith in what you saw in the poem and the book to believe it fully. What you say is, I believe, entirely possible. Forrest made the point that you should tell the truth, but not always the whole truth. That leaves a lot of open ground with which to make a marvelous Treasure Hunt. And make no mistake, I think this was indeed a very marvelous Treasure Hunt. As far as misdirection, it's not that so much as the hiding of the Clues, the many hints, stashed inside of a whole bunch of story. That's not misdirection, it's part of how Hidden Treasures work. It's "fluff." It's part of solving it, to figure out what's important and what's not, another point Forrest has made. Note that both of those points above, about "truth, but not always the whole truth" and about "what's important", are made in TTOTC.
