UPDATE: Currently, I am not looking for anyone to help.
Anyone near Gallatin Forest interested enough to check out a spot?
I realize the treasure is not there, but...
1. Maybe something was left behind as a consolation (I doubt it)
2. If correct, maybe we can verify a treasure was once there.
I have an exact spot to check. No guessing.

Lots of searchers were focused on Gallatin National Forest, myself included. And I'll be back there next month.

Is it Custer Gallatin now or when was the name changed to just Gallatin?

The Custer National Forest is distinct from Gallatin National Forest, although they are managed together. (Custer actually extends into South Dakota; Gallatin does not.) When speaking of the forests collectively, I guess they mash the names together.
