Forrest Fenn: Well, if there's a legal question, yeah. What if there's not a legal question? My argument is that the person who finds it is gonna own it.
Right, and just putting it in the park creates a "legal question" because you can't take it without bringing it to the park super. "What if there is no legal question" means he put it where there is no legal question. Forrest is not stupid, he wouldn't risk his estate. Plus, like I said, Yellowstone is not a safe place at all and guests are forced to stay on the trails. If he disregarded all that, it would have been found in a few weeks if he was dumb enough to put it there.
Clues OTOH, that is one of the best places for clues! So is ANY historical site because he is 100% certain that their history remains. Same with all the historical places in WY and any other state.

Well, at least we can agree to disagree. It’s interesting how people can all be looking at the same thing and each of them see something different. I wonder what the finder’s motivation is for not revealing the location of his find. If it was an unquestionably legal retrieval, I don’t see a compelling reason to withhold the location or solutions to each of the clues from the search community.

Probably money If he holds out too long the amount will drop fast. Maybe he wants to do another hunt.

I voted yes, but I really mean I never ruled it out.
I wrote ff only once, a couple of years ago, mentioning Durango, CO and the Midway Geyser Basin and Mammoth Hot Springs in YNP. I sent him a fishing poem. His response, ‘Thanks, that was nice. I’m glad you love my Yellowstone.’
When you’re in love, there’s no substitute, and you’re going to make it work no matter what.

Thank you, lady. I’m right there with you.

Definitely outside. I believe it was in 'Fremont County' and links directly to 'Fremont County' in Colorado where the original puzzle was designed to work. It led you to the cistern at 'Adelaide' where the Silver bracelet was buried which contained direct instructions as to where the treasure chest was within 'Fremont County' Wyoming. A very clever link up in my opinion.
As for where the chest location was, only the finder and Forrest know that as that was revealed within whatever was in the middle of the cistern. It would be futile to try to guess where it was IMO, you needed to unearth what was buried at the center of the cistern to know that exactly.

From there it's no place for the meek. yellow + no + set. cryptic yellowstone. or as others have pointed out to me, craptic. I'll go further and add east entrance.
