The puzzle within a puzzle that I missed, although I did touch upon it once or twice which made me pause for thought. If every word in the poem was important and it would be folly to discount any of them then two of those words clearly needed investigating more.
They are name words hidden in line 4 Stanza 1, and line 2 Stanza 3. YOU NEED TO READ THIS TO THE END TO CLARIFY.
HINRICHS comes first followed by EVERARD, so why in this order? We all know this was the birth name of 'EVERARD HINRICHS' but disclosed the the wrong way around, he later changed it to: ERIC SLOANE the artist that Forrest thought so much of and who wrote 38 books in his lifetime.
Following the rainbow geometry on the Colorado map I eventually ended up in AdelaidE and was faced with a circular cistern which I believed was the blaze. Cistern is a word Forrest used on Page 106 he connects it with 'IDEAS AND OPPORTUNITIES' opposite on Page 107 his two daughters are shown who resemble Twins and led me to believe they represented 'GEMINI' in the Zodiac wheel, this is where I got misdirected because in 'The known list of 88 constellations' 'GEMINI' is number 38
Believing the cipher of 'MAGI' revealed within the anti clockwise move of the Water element into FIRE where its sign numbers add up to 15 and give us the letters 'AE' and knowing the MAGI followed a STAR I constructed one on the Zodiac, it is known as a Pentagram and is used in MAGIC, its apex falls in CAPRICORN the only 9 letter sign in the Zodiac. Adding up the sign numbers the STAR/PENTAGRAM is built upon you get the number 38
Researching the MAGI I came across 'The Talismans of the Magi', there are 7 of them. On one side they bear the Pentagram symbol and on the other side they bear a 'HEXAGRAM' so I drew one on the Zodiac it is an inverted triangle above the Water element ( on our Zodiac it is formed on EARTH signs and this shape signifies all four elements within the Zodiac itself. After drawing it I added up the sign numbers the Hexagram was built on and it gave me the number 42 so 38 + 42 = 80 'EIGHTY' is the title of Eric Sloane's last book just before he died. Notice that EARTH begins and ends with E and H for Everard Hinrichs and 'ART' is in the middle, however this is not the order in which his real name is presented to us in the poem. The reason for this is connected to the word HEART which is just a case of taking the 'H' from the end of EARTH and moving it to the front, now we see HE for HINRICHS EVERARD followed by ART.
ERIC SLOANE'S most famous painting is the large mural called EARTH FLIGHT ENVIRONMENT and two of these words are relevant to the puzzle.
So returning to how Eric died and Forrest's non mention of it, he said "He died waiting for the light to change" when in effect he died of a HEART attack. The word HEART itself holds the Solution.
HEART.......HEART........HEART A. EARHART or AMELIA EARHART the EARTH FLIGHT link. Also another reason for the syllable counts of lines 2 and 3 in Stanza 1 of the poem which reveal 6 and 7 for these are the number of letters in her first and last name. The syllable counts of line 3 in Stanza 2 are 7 also and relate to the number of letters in her real last name. HEART is just a soundalike.
The poem line "Look quickly down your quest to cease" would be look quickly up as in the Zodiac the cardinals are reversed. Up North.
Pin the Cabin Remnants on the Wyoming map and project the angle of 42 degrees from the North west corner, you should see it clips the tip of the pin. Also from the South west corner 66 degrees clips the pin, and 66 is 'FF'. Amelia bought one of Eric's first 'Cloudscape' paintings.
It looks as though this could have been where the chest was concealed, of course you would have to find it, it may have been craftily hidden. Let me know what you think.
