www.oldsantafetradingco.com/FROM THE FENN FAMILY: We would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Forrest led a life filled with adventures, interesting characters like himself, and found great success many only dream of finding. Two weeks after celebrating his 90th birthday, one which he swore he would never see, Forrest passed peacefully in his home with his loving wife of 67 years and his children and grandchildren surrounding him. We are so grateful for the many wonderful years and memories we were blessed to have had with him. Forrest's legacy will continue to live on in the lives of his family. To the many searchers who joined us in the thrill of the chase over the last decade, your stories, emails, and tales of the hunt sparked joy in his life and we are forever grateful for your enthusiasm. We have no doubt that Forrest grabbed some stars and put them in his pocket on his way to heaven and is now sitting under the pines, with his brother Skippy and his dear friend Eric, scheming their next adventure. It sounds like they want the chase behind them and in the past for good.

I wouldn't blame them if that's the case. It appears to me that the treasure hunt was a biggie for Forrest in his last ten (or so) years of life -- and some of his family members may have felt a bit neglected (in comparison to the hunt).
