I have been trying to find more information on the three names that was in this chapter, Billy Joe Ray, John Charles, and Ora Mae. And what I came up with about Ora Mae, was that I found a woman by the name of Ora “Mae” Belle Washington. She was born in 1899 and was a house keeper/janitor. Also she was considered one of the greatest athletes in history. She played both tennis and basketball. - “Old lunch - bucket” And a “Cheap one pony show” could be used to describe her career.
The other was Billy Joe Ray, which I could find much about him, but I did find a song called, “Ode to Billy Joe”, song by Ray Charles himself. I wonder if this means anything.
The final person I researched was John Charles Frémont, who was born from a woman that cheated on her husband, and ran off to be with her tutor. Is it possible that when Fenn said he was a “Son-of-a-bitch” could he have been referring to John Frémont who had an exploration in Colorado.

Many people believe, as I do, that John Charles is referring to John Charles Fremont as Forrest referred to him as a SOB. Another hint is his wondering about him waving the Olive jar around. Fremont, Ca is a known Olive growing area in CAlifornia as well as John C Fremont owning a hotel in SoCal on Olive Street. The Home of Brown may also have references to California as the Home of two Governors of California named Brown was the Gallatin Mansion in Sacramento, CA. There is a House Rock landmark on the Gallatin river, so one could reasonably say that the Gallatin House (rock) was the Home of Brown.

Just look closer at the state name 'COL ORADO' and you may see why I discovered that the treasure was in Colorado not Wyoming. John Charles waving the olive jar in Forrest's face is a clue to the autobiography in the Olive Jar which is in the treasure chest.
