So that rules out Arizona, Utah, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, New Mexico for any of the other chapters. And California, of course.
Edit: Oh, and Washington. Same time zone.
Edit: Actually Washington is still fair game. They said three time zones which means that two of the chapters share the same time zone. But personally I think the two will both be in the Eastern timezone. My guess is North Carolina and New York or CT.

Hello Fellow Treasure Hunters!
There are already rumors swirling, not just about who solved Chapter Four, but who solved it first...who went searching, who got to it first, who came after, etc...So I will come forward. I am the person who solved Chapter Four. And a friend of mine who lives in Las Vegas went "boots on the ground" to look for the "SILVER Z".
This is a treasure hunt. There are many people playing and trying to solve the same puzzle at once. Not everyone can win. This is not something new to me. If I can not find a solution, I move on. I congratulate the winner and learn from the experience. I don't whine and complain and say, "But I had the solution first". Or, "I had someone boots on the ground first and they walked right past it!" I don't say, "My team is the real winners."
My solution was NORTH VEGAS EL DORADO BENCH SILVER Z. I came up with the final solution late yesterday. I contacted my friend who said that she would go searching early this morning. So early today, she went to the park. It was empty except for one other person walking their dog. She looked under several benches, and found the item to be stuck under a picnic table bench. She took some photos, which I immediately sent to the Great US Treasure Hunt email address. I received an answer in a matter of minutes, and was told that I had to have an *exact* solution to go along with the item's photo. My solution is written in a notebook so rather than take the time to type it into an email, I took a photo of it and sent that to him immediately. I was asked to also text the photos to a phone number, which I did, and to call the number. Dave answered...This is the same Dave that we have been seeing in all of the YouTube videos. He congratulated me, and confirmed that this was an *exact* solution.
Dave said that he had received several solutions since last night, but none of them were completely correct. He said that he suspected that someone would probably solve Chapter Four by today, as people were close, and if they found the item, they would most likely be able to adjust their solutions to fit.
Dave was very nice and fun to talk to.
I wish I could say that the puzzle design was perfect. It was not. It did not follow a perfect pattern. But what I submitted was what the author was looking for, and was the winning solution, and my friend had located the item early in the morning in an almost empty park. Where were all these other treasure hunters that had the solution?
I don't know if Dave is going to release his own "official" method. So I am going to hold off on commenting on the method for now.

Congrats! We were close, but in other hunts, we were able to have an exact method that could be explained in a sentence. We have not been able to do that for this one, but we see where the letters come from. I just can't see a consistent method and the fact that you said it was not perfect design makes me feel much better! Good luck with the other chapters!

Thank you everyone for the congratulations! This has been awesome, and these last few days have been crazy. I am not one to like the limelight (unless it is Rush). I never thought this would get so much attention. I'm not so sure I want to try to solve one of the other chapters...just joking!
Good luck to everyone with Chapters 1, 2 and 3! Let's get them solved!

I just listened to a new interview. Dave clarified that it's 500 driving miles, which is probably less than as-the-crow-flies miles. So in my map above, the two north east corners of Utah are probably still fair game.

Let's get them solved! Well done! Congratulations I tried to duplicate the solution. As far as I can tell, there's no rhyme or reason to which initials are used in the solution and which aren't. Sometimes the artist's initial is used, other times it's the song. Never both. How did you figure out which letters to use and which not to?
