Interesting hunt I've heard of. It's called West by Sea and apparently hasn't been found yet (I think!). I believe the treasure was some kind of hidden stone. Maybe it's worth taking a look into.

Hi Chouetteur - West By Sea is and excellent treasure hunt which I purchased at the time of it's launch. I submitted a solution in March 2016 which was confirmed correct by the authors Michelle and Edward Beale. Sadly Michelle lost her fight with Cancer and passed in 2018, however I believe the treasure hunt is still active and unclaimed. I believe my submission was the first correct solution but unfortunately the cost of travel to the location prohibited me from visiting the site and taking a rubbing of the stone which is required to claim the prize.

Thanks for the info, Tarot. What a sad story. Both the book and hunt/story look pretty incredible. The website (not sure if it’s been updated since 2018) says they’ve had four correct solutions but I suppose no one has physically gone out collected the stone rubbing, like you mentioned. Their RTW itinerary is terrific, lots of excellent spots. In the ‘before times,’ my old life took me around the globe a few times, would love to blow all my extra airline miles on a BOTG adventure someday.

Just wondering, where on the website did you find the info about the four correct solutions? Thanks!

I'm not sure why it was one of the first things I saw last night, but it was written in an entry from May 4th, 2016. So, nearly 5 years ago they had four correct solutions. The blog entry was titled "cipher tools for the inquisitive." westbysea.com/2016/05/cipher-tools-for-the-inquisitive/

Hi Chouetteur - As elysethecat said the statement was in the website timeline under the title "Cipher Tools For The Inquisitive". There were no names given however there was supposed to be a roll of honour for people who had solved the puzzle but were unable to travel and complete the hunt.
