His first post: his route, where Forrest told him that he drove within 300 feet of the treasure chest.
Wyoming route:
Follow UT44 NW to Manila WY At Manila take WY530 N to Green River, WY At Green River take WY372 NW to US189 At that junction follow US189 N till it becomes US 191. Follow US191 N to Jackson, WY At Jackson take WY22 across the pass to Victor, ID
Can probably eliminate some of the above by elevation constraints.
And then from W. Yellowstone:
To Madison Junction and walk around To Firehole Canyon and walk the canyon rim along the road Walk the area below the Firehole Falls To Ojo Caliente and walking around Fountain Flats
Then out of WY on way to Baker’s Hole

Fenn didn't say 300 feet. He said 100 yards. So what is a yard? 3 feet? Not always, especially not always with Forrest. A yard can be someone's front or back yard around their home. But it can also be a railroad yard, a RR switching yard. These yards can be very long to accommodate the long trains. Even up to a mile or more long.
Forrest lived many years in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In 2008 the city bought the property of an old RR switching yard, called the Santa Fe Railyard. The community had it developed into cultural art displays and food establishments, along with keeping the RR tracks and train service. It became a popular gathering place for the community and tourists. It was about 1/3 mile long and about a block wide. I'm sure that Forrest must have frequented it many times and been very familiar with it.
In keeping with Forrest's penchant for giving out information but also being deceptive, his reference to Dal having been within 100 yards of the treasure chest could easily have meant 100 railroad yards, specifically the RR yard he was probably the most familiar with, the 1/3 mile long Santa Fe Railyard. So 100 of these RR yards of 0.33 miles long would be 33 miles. Forrest was telling the truth when he told Dal that he had been within 100 yards, or 33 miles of the TC. This fits where the real TC was hidden and the roads Dal had traveled.

I think that there's a high probability that there were two treasure chests. One hidden where the clues lead to it. The other one either at his home in Santa Fe or somewhere else at a location that he could "set up" someone to find it, like Jack. So there would also be two locations from which someone could get within either 100 yards (33 miles) or actually 300 feet.

Of course, he wouldn't. Why would he tell everyone that he had set up a second, fraudulent TC just in case things didn't work out with the first one?
