On a side note, the chapter mentions Boston beachgoers. This likely means beachgoers that are from Boston.
Where do a lot from Boston go?  Cape Cod!

The mention of "secret tunnel" got me thinking of the Cape Cod Canal Tunnel.

Yeah, I see the allusion here as well.. Unsure how to make it mean anything in the sense of the puzzle... although I see how it could link with the next chapter "egg hunt".

Dad immediately mentioned. 13 immediately mentioned. The word "oval". And, of course, the reference to 'eggs'.
