Instruction/ rules to In The Dark of Night:
1. This is a fully armchair hunt. No travel is required.
2. There are two prizes for this hunt, so two winners. I can't post a picture of the prizes because they would act as clues to the hunt.
3. Winners must have a US address and a Mysterious Writings username.
4. Submit your solution to me at forgottenhistoryhunt here on Mysterious Writings via private messaging. Do not post any answers publicly.
5. The winning solution will be a person, a place, and two quotes - both the one deciphered, and the corrected version.
6. Feel free to contact me with questions or comments, or if you feel there is an error. I will answer on the forum so everyone has the same information.
7. If the hunt is not solved right away, I will post a clue once a week.
8. Enjoy the hunt, have fun and good luck!

Does anyone else think Garfunkel in that picture looks like Westley/The Dread Pirate Roberts?

Does anyone else think Garfunkel in that picture looks like Westley/The Dread Pirate Roberts? Haha I'm not sure, but I've found a few other literary friends.

I received a question about the hunt so will answer it here.
The questioner asked if there were clues hidden in the seaweed, and whether it was necessary to zoom in to see hidden details.
There is nothing hidden in the seaweed and it shouldn't be necessary to zoom in for details, although some things might be clearer if you zoom in. I did not intentionally hide messages or clues.
Keep the questions coming and I'll answer what I can :-)

Hi Firefly - I feel like I'm at a dead end too. I thought I had a big breakthrough but cannot figure out where to go from here. One thing I've learned with FHH's puzzles is we just have to keep plugging away and checking every path until something clicks...and then it all falls in place.

I've spent a ridiculous number of hours down rabbit holes. I get so interested in the path, even after I realize it's probably unrelated. Some of these things I'd never have pursued on my own. The Osidach puzzle from last time was my first experience with these hunts, but I'm obsessed now. Let me know if you want to bounce ideas together. I'm a much better thinker when I can collaborate. I can share all the crazy new knowledge I have about randomness.
