Well, I won't be flipping a coin today...because we had a third correct submission shortly before the buzzer went off last night (and I don't have a three-sided coin). About to put names in a hat and draw a winner, will announce very shortly.

And the winner is...
Namtabeht! Congratulations!
A genuine tip of the cap to our other victorious puzzle solvers as well: whispa (with teammates pugdaisy920 and sspuzzler), and susb8383.
I was so impressed with everyone's puzzle-solving skills, enthusiasm, and persistence in this hunt. Thank you so much to all who took the time to solve even part of this contest.
Of course, this is also a time to congratulate our top winner of this contest again, mike6888 (with teammate Brian) who solved the entirety of the contest stunningly quickly. Very impressive.
I welcome everyone to post solutions for the puzzles. I won't have time myself to make a solution guide for a while, but maybe it's not even necessary. Maybe anyone who participated can post a single solution element and we'll see how far we can get? I'll eventually answer any questions so everyone can fully understand the methods.
Congrats everyone, and thank you!

Congratulations to All the Winners - especially to Namtabeht! The 3 latter individuals and teams showed real diligence - Well Done! And kudos to the creator, David C, for a successful and challenging puzzle.

Congrats!!
The paired letters: If you look at the font for MASQUERADE you'll see that each letter has a different number of points. Use these numbers with the letter pairs and the polybius grid. You can guess the number of points based on the shape of the letter, or you can use the balloons. The letters grouped in each balloon have the same number of points, so EMW each have five points.
It spells out: KEYWORD IS ORIGINAL

Did anyone else have more trouble than they should have on the red circled letters?

Did anyone else have more trouble than they should have on the red circled letters? No, but I did overlook COMPASS for far too long.

Me too. That was the last one I got at 11 p.m. last night. I thought for sure I'd be staring at those tiles until 2:59 a.m.
One thing that Mike and Brian pointed out is the ruler is exactly the distance from the hare's eye to the Cs.

Now it's on to taxes! Priorities! We have until Monday to file taxes this year, so you can spend all weekend crushing puzzles. If you live in MA like me, we have until Tuesday! Patriots' Day comes in very handy for that purpose alone.
