• Part II will consist of 10 questions. • All answers can be found on the site Find A Grave, and each has a photo of a headstone or memorial. • Each solution holds clues to the next question. • Each question will be left up for at least 24 hours, when I will post the answer and the next question. • Once I post the answer to a question, it will be closed to any more submissions. • This pattern will be repeated until all questions have at least one correct submission. • If I do not receive any correct answers within 24-hours, I will post a hint and the question will remain open for an additional 24 hours.
• Each player can win only one of the questions, so there will be 10 winners for for Part II. • Who wins each question will not be revealed until Part II of the hunt has been completed, so be sure to answer every question. • There will be an additional prize awarded based on all of your submissions to Part II.
• Because I will post the solution to each question, you will always be able to move on to the next question regardless of whether you correctly answered the previous one. • Submit all answers, questions, comments, if you feel there is an error, or for any clarification to me via private messaging here on MW.
• Have fun and good luck!

Clarification - Because the headstone is difficult to read, please use the typed date and age listed on the site.
Sorry for any confusion!

Part II, Q1 Answer: Lucy W. Brock's date of birth was 8 July 1822
Her death date: 25 April, 1885 minus 62 years, 9 months, 17 days = 8 July 1822
*I accepted 9 July 1822 because the date/ duration generator gives this date if you include the day she died. *I also accepted 8 July 1817 because her headstone can be read that she died at the age of 67, not 62.
__________________________________________________________________________________________
Part II, Q2:
Same cemetery as #1. The name and age of the longest-living woman born in 1823.
Please include the link to her site and include Q2 in the subject line
*Note: Every search should result in a site that has a photo of the person's headstone, memorial or plaque. If if does not have one of these, it is not the correct site.
Good luck!

Just a reminder that anyone can join in this hunt at any time.
You do not have to have participated in any of the previous questions. Because I post the answer to each question after 24 hours, that is all you need to get started!
Send in the answer to Q2 before 7pm tonight and begin your chance to win one (or more) of the prizes - the more the merrier!
All prizes shown will be awarded, and there will be multiple winners (there are three so far!).
And feel free to contact me if any question is not clear, if you need clarification, or if you are having trouble navigating the Find A Grave site. It does take a bit of a learning curve to narrow down what you are looking for.
Question 3 will be posted tonight at 7pm!
Have fun and good luck!

Part II Question 3:
The name, date of birth and cemetery location of the earliest woman born in the US with the same first and last name as #2. Include link to site.
*The site for this solution has an image of a headstone. If there is no headstone, it is not the answer I am looking for.

How do you determine who wins each question? Is it the first person with the right answer or is it a drawing from all the right answers received?

How do you determine who wins each question? Is it the first person with the right answer or is it a drawing from all the right answers received? Thanks for the question - it's not a short answer! It is a bit of a process, but it depends on how many people submit answers to each question and in what order they send in a correct answer. Basically, it starts with the first person to answer a question wins that question. But if one person answers two questions first, the second person to answer wins the next question, etc. Depending on how many submissions are sent in, a second prize might be awarded for that question. So if you answer all the questions, you are pretty much guaranteed at least one prize, possibly more. The prizes for Part II will be selected randomly from the small pendants (bee, thistle, compass) and the charms (bee/ fleur de lis & compass). At the end of Part II, I will put all entries into a hat and draw one name for one of the coins. After Part II is done, there will be three "bonus questions" (all released at the same time) which require some internet sleuthing. There will be one coin awarded for each of these. The prize for Part I, which was won by tiffanilinntreasure, is the "Get Lost in the Right Direction" compass coin.
I will explain Part III and the prizes when we get there!
So this is why I have said to join at any time, and that there are multiple prizes to be won!
There are additional prizes (not shown) that I may use if enough people participate :-)
At the end of the hunt, there may be more drawings for all who participated.
It's a bit confusing, but I hope this answers your question!

Part II Q3 Solution: Name and date of birth of the earliest woman bon in the US with the same first and last name as #2.
Answer: Sarah S. Knox, Falmouth Union Cemetery, Falmouth, VA b. 1769, d. 20 Aug 1831, age 61. www.findagrave.com/memorial/6669680/sarah-s-knox*A sharp-eyed sleuth pointed out that Sarah could not have been born in the US because there was no USA before 1776!
I also noticed that it doesn't say where she was born, so I'm not even sure she was born in America, but everyone got the answer right, so I'll try to do better with the wording of my questions. I do try to be careful, but details slip by me sometimes! *There was an earlier Sarah Knox, born in 1746 & buried in Berwick ME, but there is no photo of a headstone with her listing, and someone found still another Sarah Knox who was born in 1733, but she is not listed on Find A Grave.

Part II, Q4:
The name and date of death of the woman buried in NY who has the same name as #3's niece, as shown on the headstone. Include link to site.
_________________________________________________________________________________________
Part II, Q5: The name and date of death of the woman (age 81) who died 20 years, 8 months and 10 days after #4 died (Greenlawn Cemetery, Darlington IN). Also her claim to fame. Include link to site.
_________________________________________________________________________________________
*Remember, because each question relies on information from the previous question, all answers must come from the Find A Grave site, and the the page must include an image of a headstone or a memorial. -Thanks! *Questions #6 and #7 will be posted tomorrow.
Good luck!
