Ahoy from the Black Spot Guild!
Do you like treasure?!
Do you like pirates?!
Do you like....PIRATE TREASURE?!
This hunt is for anyone in New England that wants a very realistic chance of finding $5,000 worth of gold, silver, cash, and REAL antique 1600-1700 era and new .999 fine silver replica pirate coins! As well as a very real, very sharp, pirate cutlass. If that intrigues you, read on about the Lost Treasure of Saint Francis!!
I have been working on this hunt for about a year and, having just received the last of the treasure, it is time! I created the Black Spot Guild as a place to host my treasure hunt as well as sell genuine antique and replica pure silver pirate coins, both as stand alone coins as well as necklaces. My making of the coins is coming along; feel free to have a look at that stuff as well, but the main thing for this group is the hunt!
I posted this on the FB page, but wanted to post it here as well, as not sure which reaches more seekers!
I have gathered and set aside $5,000 worth of gold, silver, cash as well as those antique and pure silver replica pirate coins, as well as that very real pirate cutlass, that one person will find, buried somewhere in the VT/NH mountains.
To be successful at this hunt, you will need to use all the wits and tools at your disposal to visit 5 very real sites related to a very real lost buried treasure, "the Lost Treasure of Saint Francis". That was a very real treasure lost in 1759 in various locations in VT and NH! Similar to other hunts I have seen on here, you have to obtain various clues from those locations, and use them to find other locations and piece them together to find the treasure. UNLIKE many hunts though, this will involve driving around both states, some mild off-roading, map and compass work, and even needing to cross a body of water to get to one of the clues! But again, the winner gets up to $5,000, so worth a little effort if you ask me!
Different from many hunts on here as well is the difficulty of the puzzles. Mine is not focused on puzzles. Sure there are codes, but they are basic and you are given the keywords to solve them, you just have to do the work. So instead of complicated puzzles, this hunt focuses on the fun of the chase and the other aspects of getting to the hints and treasure itself! Quickly decipher the codes, figure out the locations and go! I designed this to be quick and dirty. It will not take months but rather weeks or even days to find, depending how hard and fast you work.
Just like many of these hunts, this is crowd funded, so we need participation for the prize to be that big. The fee is a flat $40 for all participants. I have played around with the fee amount and that is the most appropriate for this hunt. That is more than some, but less than others. And since this is quite an involved hunt, involving real effort, that I have spent the past year putting together, I wanted to make sure participants were serious, but knowing they will be rewarded appropriately.
Doing that math, we only need 125 people in all of New England to reach that grand prize. If we get less participation, then of course the prize will have to be smaller. But I doubt we will have trouble finding 125 people from this group and New England that will spend $40 to find $5,000!
I definitely designed this hunt towards those in love with pirates and real pirate treasure. If you have no interest in the $1,000 worth of real antique 1600-1700s era pirate coins (aka "cobs"), then this might not be for you. But keep in mind, there is also another $4,000 worth of cash, silver and gold in the box. There is also a very real very functional and sharp pirate cutlass the winner will get as part of the final steps of the hunt! So, if you are into swords, that is another bonus. This hunt basically has something for everyone.
So, if spending $40 to find $5,000 in a quick and dirty treasure hunt, with a 1 in 125 chances of finding it, please join the Black Spot Guild (BSG) and check out the event details there. It is the only event, so it is easy to find.
Yes, the BSG is a private group; that is the only way to keep out spammers, just like most groups. So join, check out the details for the event, and if you are not interested, you can leave, no harm done.
Hope to see you there!
