PLEASE READ BEFORE STARTING THE HUNT!
Instructions for SECRETS OF THE DEAD Halloween Hunt:1. This is a totally armchair hunt. No travel is required – except, of course, your fingers! 2. This hunt uses the site What3Words, where a combination of three words pinpoints a 3-meter square somewhere on Earth. 3. There are twenty BOLD words in the poem (do not use the title). Just THREE of them will lead you to the correct answer. 4. The three words will be in order within the poem, but are not necessarily all in a row. Words that come later in the poem cannot go before earlier ones. 5. All three words will be in English. 6. Every day, I will eliminate one word from the possibilities. 7. There are no hidden messages or ciphers in the poem that will help you discover the correct combination of words.
The poem itself does not offer clues to the exact location – it is a generic ghost/ haunted place poem.
Looking up haunted places will not help with the answer because it lies within one 3x3 meter area somewhere on planet Earth. According to the What3Words site, there are approximately 57 trillion of these squares identified... You only have to find ONE!
This hunt requires simple trial and error on the What3Words site.
8. Submitting your solution:
A CORRECT SOLUTION will include: The THREE WORDS in order, what EXACTLY lies within that 3x3 meter square, and the BACK STORY of that spot.
General or vague answers will not be accepted. Submit your answer to me via private messaging here on Mysterious Writings.
9. Feel free to message me with questions, comments or if you feel there is an error. 10. Because I could not check every combination of these 20 words, if you happen to find a ghost story associated with the WRONG 3x3 square, I will award you Halloween charms based on the amount of words remaining when you submit the answer (if there are multiple ghost stories hidden in these words, you can only get credit once for a wrong answer)! There are three prizes for this hunt:
1. One 6" skeleton in wooden coffin.
2. One 2" crystal skull.
3. Four little handmade glass ghosts.
In addition to the prizes listed above, you will also win a bag of Halloween charms (shown as background) based on how many words are left when you submit your answer. If you get the answer while there are 20 words, you will get 20 charms. If you get the answer when there are 10 words left, you will get 10 charms, etc.

The DETAILED BACK STORY of that spot.
General or vague answers will not be accepted.

Wow - this hunt went fast. As I checked this morning with my first cup of coffee, I saw that I had three more submissions. So now I have 5 correct answers!

For those of you who have not yet solved the hunt, I offer you a second chance to win something in this Halloween Hunt! Once again, use the BOLD words in the poem to find a place near the What3Words spot. Name that place, where the moose feed and the the speckled trout swim. Also, the name of the specter and its ethereal song. This time, the words might be in any order. Your answer must include these five parts: 1. The 3 words 2. The place name 3. The meaning of the clue 4. The name of the specter 5. The name of the song The answer must be specific. If it is only partially right, I will simply tell you it is incorrect, not whether you have part of it correct.
Anyone can submit an answer, but I will select the winners first from those who have not won yet.
Anyone can continue to work on the original hunt and submit an answer. If there are any prizes left, I will have a drawing from all remaining correct submissions for either the original hunt &/or this second 'chapter'.
Please DO NOT post your answer or any guesses on the public forum - just send it to me via messaging here on MW. Thank you!

Instead of eliminating one word a day. I will eliminate 12 words today :-)
None of these 12 words are used in either What3Words location I am looking for:
PLAIN FIND EVIL ROTTING FEET EBON WAIL NIGHT MUST
SITE BOLD THREE
So that leaves just 8 words for you to work with.
For the original puzzle, the 3 words will appear in the order you need for the What3Words search.
For 'Chapter Two" of the hunt, the 3 words you need may appear in any order.
