Today's hint for the original hunt: 

A specific 3x3 spot in a cemetery and the evil ghost who resides there.

Today's hint for "Chapter Two" of the hunt:

When you find the place, be sure to have satellite view, and to zoom out until you see a Lady on the Left, and a Ranger on the Right.

Remember, for this one, the 3 words lead you to a spot near the answer, but the answer is not on that 3x3 square.

Look to the Lady on the Left, and the stories around her.

Because the first part of this hunt was solved so quickly, I assumed "Chapter Two" would also be solved in a few days. Although I've received a few incorrect answers, there have been no correct solutions yet.

So submissions for the "original hunt" will be accepted through 11pm tonight, but I will leave "Chapter Two" open until I get three correct answers.

Solution to SECRETS OF THE DEAD hunt:

What3Words: HORNS.HEATS.STATUE

Location: THE BLACK MAUSOLEUM in Greyfriars Kirkyard, Edinburgh Scotland.

The Ghost: SIR GEORGE MACKENZIE, who is said to haunt his tomb and whose ghost has been known to physically attack people, causing bruises and scratches.

The Story:
George Mackenzie was the Lord Advocate during the rule of Charles II and he was known as the most vicious persecutors of the people who rose up in 1638 against the King's Common Book of Prayer. Opposition to this book was considered treason and Mackenzie became known as "Bluidy Mackenzie.” After imprisoning, torturing and executing the protesters, he had their heads displayed on the spiked gate as a warning to others.

When he died, he was buried in Greyfriars Kirkyard, the same place where he tortured the protesters. It is said Greyfriars is haunted by the tortured souls of those he murdered, but also by the spirit of George Mackenzie himself. People have reported ghostly activity around the tomb, including being attacked by the ghost of Mackenzie himself, who is as horrific in death as he was in life – an evil, angry, vengeful poltergeist.

Thanks, everyone, for taking the time to look at my hunts. I know everyone will be busy with the holiday season upon us, so I'm going to give you all a break for a while. I do have more hunts in the works and I'll let you know when I'm going to post another one.

I sent out all the prizes for the Secrets of the Dead hunt today - please be sure to let me know if yours doesn't arrive, or if I mixed up the labels! (I hope I got them all right!)

If anybody has a type of hunt they'd like to see, message me. I will pick the topic, but if you want ciphers, or riddles, or a map, more pictures, less pictures, a story, or a play on words...let me know! Or let me know which of the hunts you worked on that you enjoyed the most.

I have gone back over some of my earlier hunts and found that some of the links &/or clues I used don't work anymore. The history doesn't change, but often the sites used to solve the hunts do change and my instructions don't work anymore!  If anybody want to work on an old hunt for fun or practice, and thinks the instructions no longer work, let me know and I'll see if I can tweak them so they work again :-)
