OK, here goes a possible solution to the golden apple. It would be nice if the creator of the treasure hunt would meet you there as he says he would on page 3 .
There are a lot of changes in the area but enough to make it all fit , ( makes logical sense to me ). Look at historic aerials.com
I don’t know when the Ottawa executive airport was built ,but I don’t see it on the 1981 aerial image.
The way I see it the puzzle revolves around the Zeeland rest area 528 and the end of Riley St.
From the video we know the puzzle creator( Cam), drives past the dig site from time to time and says it has not changed ( no development). The story itself is about a farm and trees by the farm.
Reading the verse leads me to the end of Riley St. turn around. I will explain that later.
Things that one should research more is , who lives or lived at the corner of 56 Ave. and Riley St. ( the farm). Did they ever have an orchard? What is the Zip code. What is or was the name on the mail box ( was there a “ P”on the mail box like you see on pg. 5). You see the two same trees, ( as in the drawings) in the same front yard location as on the farm back in 1981and 2022, ( too bad no street view). It appears that there are doors on the barn that open facing the 56 Ave.like the one sees in the page 5.
I will try to break down each group of four lines of the verse.
1: Talks about the Low Lands which happens to be Zeeland in Holland ( reclaimed land)
2: This line could pertain to the time/ heart but I’m thinking your at the turn around ( lovers lane).
3: We know the city is Grand Rapids Michigan. He is talking about a rest stop to the west and this rest stop is about 11 miles west from a sign saying exit to or welcome to Grand Rapids. We assume this rest stop is on Hwy I 196
4: So the hunt ends where your return begins. So before you ramp back onto the highway from the rest stop you stop before you merge on . When you look to your right side you see the turnaround.
5: The presage,( a sense of something is about to happen), this could refer to bathroom usage # 1, #2, and if you do both then #3. It could refer to a poker hand 2 cards the same together with 3 cards the same is a full house which beats a flush ( bathroom hint?) or a Zip code , numbers on a pole etc.
6: Refers to the trees you see with the hay fields in the background
7: might be telling us to use a map ( was there one at the rest stop in 1982?) or is he talking about the postal service that delivers through snow and sleet and rain ie. a Zip code?
8: first construct? Is this referring to the Ottawa airport? or is this referring to something that was built like the turnaround?
9: The Omphalos, central point or navel. This could refer to Gerald Ford ( I 196 Hwy )who was the centre point for the country and part of the naval reserve or the creator is just telling you to dig two feet down in the centre of this turnaround at the end of Riley St. ( looks like a navel in shape with an umbilical cord?)
10: Graviety? This had me thinking about the airport but then again I think he is implying to lay down in the back seat of your car and shut your lights off.
11: Your not going to tell anyone what happens at the end of Riley St.
12: You probably have some lights ( car lights), illuminating you from the rest stop area so be quiet or you might wake up the people in the farm house as well ( this is why you see the same farm house in the beginning and at the end of the story).
Other things I was thinking about are the two “X”s that we see on the one farm gate image, ( page 20). Are they for the number 20 that we see on the Ottawa airport runway?
Anyways that’s the way I see it ( for now). GLTA
