Hoping this NYE Mini will be solved before the Cupid's Arrow main hunt launched on Jan. 28. Winner should email me the answer to samanthadammer@gmail.com.
To clarify, there is no theme or other connection between the two hunts.

We have a winner!! Full details to follow. I will release the winner name and full solve info to be posted on January 5. If you still want to solve, go ahead and submit your answers until that time. There's only one first prize winner but the next 9 who solve will get bragging rights

There’s a very vague solve there (that I could find, anyway) - nothing actually explaining all the clues and the full solve. Just trying to work out the author’s style…

I agree with Lj67 that the solve was not useful to figure out the kind of cluing the author likes to use. If another hint isn't forthcoming, perhaps a more specific explanation of how the pictures led to the solve would be appreciated.

Fair enough. I'll post a detailed solve for the NYE puzzle on Tax Day April 15 or when Masquerade 3 hits $3,000 whichever happens first.
The full solve solution may help you...or it may lead you a bit astray. But to be clear, the hunts are completely independent of each other.

Here is the full solution.
Like Cupid’s Arrow, this fully armchair hunt can be solved with just the verse, although the images are extremely helpful. The six images are hints to the six men who were primarily responsible for establishing the Second Bank of the United States in 1815:
John Jacob Astor (aster flower)
David Parrish (David)
Stephen Girard (Saint Stephen)
Jacob Barker (barking dog)
Alexander Dallas (Ewing is from where?)
John C. Calhoun (his actual image)
Even if you didn’t figure out all six, a Google search with a few of the names will pull up what you need to find the location of the bank building.
Verse explanation:
Where gloomy silence reigns on Sunday
The second made for a real nation's way. [Second National Bank] Viewing where will give one name [J.R Ewing (Dallas)] Of six, who built eight, which remain. [Six men, eight columns]
Three one six and nine plus eight's [17 U.S. 316 (1819) Supreme Court] Where law defended, not sedate. [Court upheld federal reserve] But now it's mellow, should you write [ street address is 420 (sorry)] To structure stripped by a jay's might. [Andrew Jackson defunded the bank]
Found the spot? Opa! Now the word [Greek revival architecture] Requires the skill of a certain lord. [Lord Playfair]
Review by eye, and you will see [find the Google review by "Retna"] She gets the last word…your key! [“Rangers” is last word, use to decrypt Playfair cipher]

I have to admit, I would have never solved that 😂. Congratulations to the solver, with the clues not being distinct and able to be interpreted so many ways I would have been lost down the rabbit hole forever. Really good job! Goes out to the solver and to the creator for a successful hunt.
