if you have a recipe sounds like you have numbers. maybe they lead to page, line, word or page line character.
each ingredient numbers might lead to a line or character in that heading.

If you're talking about Rumrunners, I doubt it's a book cipher. More generally, if the ingredient amounts aren't helpful in solving a book cipher you can try the number equivalents of the letters of the ingredients, in various combinations. EXAMPLE: 0.5 oz pineapple juice First-second letters (pi=16-9) First-second-third letters (pin=16-9-14) First-last letters (pe=16-5) Etc...
