Compilation of Text Hints Along with Border Phrases

So I decided to go through the book once again to try and pick out anything in each text page preceding an illustration that would seem to be a hint. I also added the border phrases first for every illustration In doing so, here is a compilation that may or may not help in thinking new ideas and break loose from the years long star riddle. Here ya go:

illuminatinps - I just wanted to add/ comment a few of the things you mentioned:

No fox is an island - but if you compare the fox on page 5 to the roads marked on the map at the back, you will see that the fox IS the island.

Start with the tip of his ear near the snake =where the bridge crosses over from the mainland on the map. The base of that ear = Town Hill. Follow that road straight down his neck to his shoulder in Somesville.

The tip of his nose is about halfway between the bridge to the mainland (tip of his ear) and the compass in the upper right corner of the map. Follow that road as it 'scoops' down (follows his neck line and along his back), curving up to Bar Harbor which is his hip.

If you follow the road (red dotted line) down from Bar Harbor to the POI near Jordan Pond and go down the one that follows the coast (not dotted), this forms the triangle shape that is his hip going down to his tail. His funny paw is about at the location of Aunt Betty Pond.

His bumpy tail generally follows the irregular shoreline at the bottom of the island. Compare the shape of the base of his tail on the right side of the image to the shape of the Schooner Head shoreline on the map.

His elbow that sticks out to the left is the road that goes from Somesville and ends at Beech Mtn. As far as I can tell, the fox/island does not include much of the left side of the island.

Looking at odd phrasing, you have written the border phrase 'AT JOURNEYS END' incorrectly (which is the right way to say it!). It says 'AT JOURNEY END' which is kind of weird. There is, of course, also "A TAIL TO TELL"

There is the phrase MY I FOOT I on page 31 reading down the first letters of the text.

You have "GOLD,PEARLS, AND JEWELS... THATS THE KEY"  There is one more place where he mentions what the key is: "The key is...that...King Neptune's soul-forest is made from giant kelp!"  Maybe there's an anagram in there somewhere?
