I posted the Starter Puzzle here. You must have the solution to the Starter Puzzle before you can start solving the puzzles in the Lamp With Four Keys. You have to start where it says to start Besides telling you where to start, it also has some other things you need. This Starter Puzzle is meant to be very easy!

I have a question about the starter puzzle. Is it a stand-alone puzzle? Or do you need the lamp to be able to solve the starter puzzle? Thanks!

Yes it is a stand-alone puzzle. You DON"T need the lamp to solve it, although the solution would be completely meaningless without the lamp in front of you. I posted some additional remarks on the puzzle here, to clarify a couple of things, because I've had the same kind of questions from several people about it. This makes it a bit easier to understand! www.facebook.com/ChickenJungle/photos/a.349729148477852/2164227063694709/?type=3&theater

There is a winner for the Lamp Key Pendant! Congratulations, Brian Poeppelman and Jenny Kile! Brian actually sent in the correct solution several minutes before Jenny. But Brian says he wants to share it with Jenny. It's fine for people to collaborate and share! Congratulations to both!
I knew the Starter Puzzle would be solved fast, and that's the way I wanted it to be. Everyone has to get the Starter Puzzle solution first, in order to solve the rest of the lamp. There are actually two ways to solve this puzzle. One of them is super-easy. I didn't think of that when I made the puzzle, but you can do it that way.
The other way involves a bit more logical thinking, but is really easy too, once you see it. If you can figure out THIS method, it will actually help you solve the puzzle in the lamp.
And congratulations to Genetic Blend - who was the first lamp owner to show me how to solve it by THIS method!
Remember there is something important about this solution that you really have to have later.

For those who are trying to get to the logical solution for the Starter Puzzle, here's a little clue I've posted on the Facebook page, in the comments under the puzzle.
Why did I use this monofaced Courier type? Isn't there a reason for that?

Evening all!
I'm not going to be able to participate by buying a lamp, but am wondering if anyone can help me with the starter puzzle?
I know it is supposed to be easy, but I'm just not seeing it.

Once you get it, you'll see how easy it is! Think about the little clues I've posted....Why did I use the monofaced Courier type? Is there something you notice about the typed letters (besides the fact that some are bolded and italicized and some are not.) It's really easy.
There's also a super-easy shortcut way that you can use to solve it. But if you use the first method the way I planned it, you have an advantage, because there's something about this method that helps you understand (in a general way) how to solve part of the lamp puzzle.
The solution is a phrase, a string of letters. I'm telling everyone these things in public posts - I thought it would be fair to everybody! I hope that helps.

I'll give another little clue for the Starter Puzzle. I already said, "Why did I use the Courier monospaced font"? If you google "monospaced font" and glance at the Wikipedia article, it mentions the reason why I HAD to use the monospaced font.
Here's the other little clue, and it has to do with the above. Look at ALL the bolded letters, not just the italicized ones.

Lightbulb moment for me. I was making it way more difficult than it really was. Thanks for the hints.
