It's below the blaze, obviously. Seriously, I looked for Fenn's references to finding things. An early memory of his was looking under rotting logs. He also indicated he's hiding behind a tree, possibly with an initial on it. He would not likely have carried a shovel with him, and he's said we don't need to move large rocks. A last thought. He indicated that if he said where home of Brown was, we would go directly to the treasure.

What is the symbol on the box in that drawing?
If symbol is Ogham, it could suggest that box is made of wood.

Answer: look at the right-hand page in TFTW. That symbol is there -- pointing at the box/basket in the illustration. It's a Pueblo Cross (similar to a Cross of Lorraine or a Patriarchal Cross).

The versions of the dragonfly glyph in Fig. 23 and 16f on the page in the link are all but identical to the Ogham glyph for Onn. So the wood box still seems like a possible meaning.

. If i understand Forrests comments, there is one thing left for the searcher to figure out on site. Maybe the “how hidden” is involved. Forrest does say the solution should get one within several steps (i believe this).
There are several things i picked up from the poem, one that may or may not apply (because it is not direct) is
If you are brave and iN thE wooD (DEN / END)
in the woo DIG ive you title...

ff has said that we will be surprised when we discover where the box is hidden.I have not seen this statement discussed much.
Most of the places, and methods of how the box is hidden that have been discussed, would not cause me any surprise.
What I think would surprise most searchers was if the box was hidden in a place and in a way that has seemingly been ruled out.

Seems many feel it is in the similar manner as shown below: I wonder if a treasure hidden in such a way be considered “bowled”? if so, how would forrests comments about being under a manmade object (is that the correct word?) apply? .

Not Associated with a structure. Not Manmade. I wonder what manmade is. Wood, stone are natural. Is baked clay natural?

"...not associated with ANY structure."
