Dig spots for others-
V1- In the center of four alike V2- In the middle of twenty-one V3- found- In the middle section - take five steps V4- found - beneath the tenth stone, from right to left, beneath the ninth row from the top V5- at twelve paces, from the left side - beneath the only standing member V6- Between two arms extended, below the bar that binds, beside the long palm's shadow, embedded in the sand V7- Giant pole, giant step, to the place, the casque is kept V8- At its southern foot, the treasure waits V9- At the base of a tall tree V10- In rhapsodic man's soil, from the middle of one branch, of the v, look down V11- Under that, which may be last touched, or first seen standing, look north at the wing, and dig V12-The end of ten by thirteen, is your clue, fence and fixture, central too, for finding jewel casque
Seems Byron liked the center, beneath, or at the base of something described in the verse.

Thanks SimpleSon.... great list....So with that..... the Questions are: center of WHAT four alike? What 21? What Standing Member? What Arm, What Bar, What Shadow? What Pole? What does IT's refer to? What tall tree? What V? What 'MAY' be last touched?

The picture of the Oreo box you have is from the early 1990s, the Oreo box in Devil Dogs shows the box as they looked in the 1970s-80s…that’s why they look different. The “staircase” pattern bisected the “R” in the older design and the “E” in the early 90s design that followed. I like your ideas, just wanted to point out this particular discrepancy is easily explained.

Thanks, I tried searching for boxes from the time period, but this was the only one close to the one in the picture I could find. The cookie layout looked the same to me.

I have several solves but need someone like Josh Gates to get permission to dig for one of them.

Has anyone had any success getting a response when submitting a solve for a box that is No longer there? Any thoughts on how best to do this?

Has anyone had any success getting a response when submitting a solve for a box that is No longer there? Any thoughts on how best to do this? Not possible, only one who knew was Byron. You can’t “submit a solve”, that ended with Byron’s passing. As for “a box that’s no longer there”, that’ll be a circular argument from now to eternity. You can’t prove it was ever there to begin with and no one is alive to tell you otherwise. Best to focus your efforts on finding casques that are still where Byron buried them.

I respectfully disagree.. In order for JJP to include clues in his paintings he would have to know specific details.. So I submit he would be able verify a solve (at least for some of them)

Is there any proof that at least 13 casks were built? No doubt Palencar got snap shots of the surrounding features of the target spots. But is there any proof that Byron actually buried all 12 casks? The fact that he gave the searchers the chance to send their solve in if the cask wasn't there is maybe because he never buried all of them for many possible reasons.

Possible I guess but I trust that he did. Time and mother nature are our enemy now and the reason some boxes will not be found. It's been 40 years. Look around you, few places are as they were 40 years ago

To Jenny's questions. Here is the answer to middle of 21?
If you look at the painting on the right side and count down 21 blocks .. You see a row of 3 blocks.. The middle block shows the image of the state of Louisiana. So that gets you to the state.
I have a video that shows the dig location but can not figure how to post it.
