Hello MW friends, Jenny, thanks for sharing the joys of Scrabblegrams with your readers and for hosting this contest! Jenny's article does a great job of explaining what a Scrabblegram is, but for readers seeing these posts before clicking the link above, a Scrabblegram is a message that uses each of the 100 tiles from a Scrabble game exactly once. To see some examples, please visit our new site davesscrabblegrams.com. There are lots of Scrabblegrams on the site with themes ranging from famous movies to books, tv shows, games, sports, historical events, and more. Check it out, and we look forward to seeing what new ideas you come up with! Happy Holidays, David (calvin)

Hi, everyone. It is Steve Geller, editor of this Scrabblegram project (mentioned in Jenny's article above). Dave and I have been friends since college, and have enjoyed many puzzle contests on Mysterious Writings. It's an honor to share our new website through this creative contest idea.
As a friendly public-service announcement, I just want to alert players that it is quite a challenge to make ANY Scrabblegram, much less a collection of them with the flow and creativity of Dave's. I implore for people to not get discouraged if they try to form one, and end up with remaining letters like A-A-K-I-I-I-U-V the first time. It takes some amount of practice to craft and polish these, and may take a bit of time as well. But the final result is often very rewarding, and gives one a real sense of accomplishment.
Thanks to all readers for visiting our site, participating in the contest if you're feeling brave and creative, and for sharing this with anyone you think might enjoy it too.

On the website, we're selling a deck of cards on behalf of young adult cancer survivors. The organization is called The Samfund ( thesamfund.org), and its founder is a two-time cancer survivor herself (a college friend, one of the most amazing, kindhearted people I've ever known). From now until the end of the year, cards are 50% off. And since it's all going to The Samfund, I'll make a personal donation for any deck sold as though it were still the regular price. Feel good about supporting a worthy cause while getting the perfect non-denominational stocking stuffer for all your wordplay-loving friends! www.davesscrabblegrams.com/450575402/category/1590411/sale-50-off-cards

Good Morning Fellow Treasure Hunters, I visited the ScrabbleGrams website and got 5 decks of their awesome playing cards. As Jenny said in her article, they will make a great stocking stuffer. And, they represent a very worthy cause (young adult cancer survivors via "The Sam Fund"). Everyone can use a new deck of playing cards - for solitaire, poker, or even "Go Fish"! The scrabblegrams are entertaining too! They are even 50% off! Here's the url for Dave's ScrabbleGrams: www.davesscrabblegrams.com/450575402/category/1590411/sale-50-off-cards

Wow, thanks mofinn! Much appreciated. Okay, here's a Scrabblegram about the famous armchair treasure hunt A Treasure's Trove, which I'm guessing is familiar to many MW readers here. Making a five-by-five grid (alphabet has no Q), you examine "coordinate group" illustrations to win a dozen jeweled creatures.
Blanks: A, N www.davesscrabblegrams.com/451025851For those unfamiliar, in 2004 Michael Stadther published a children's book called A Treasure's Trove, which contained clues for twelve jeweled creatures collectively worth $1,000,000 hidden across America. The method for solving the puzzles involved making a 5x5 grid (a Polybius square), filled with the alphabet minus the letter Q. Groups of coordinates were then hidden in illustrations.

Those entries are great - entertaining and inspiring! I'm not eligible for this contest (I'll be one of the judges), but just for fun here's a Scrabblegram I came up with for the game Yahtzee:
"Six five four two one. Rainbowlike. Vacuum all dice into padded thing. Try again. Squat. Sobs. One more jiggler. Repeat. Yahtzee!!"
