I opened a wallet on Exodus using what I thought was the correct seed phrase but there was no bitcoin in it? Every time I tried a seed phrase it did nothing, but this time it said “restore” after I typed in the seed phrase, when I did it opened an empty wallet, is it possible I opened someone else’s old wallet?

Hello, from what I've read, this is pretty common. I don't believe you opened anyone's wallet. To learn more about this, you might check out Professor F's videos on Youtube and read the comments.

I scanned the qrcode on the back of the book that I bought using exudos and it said it is invalid. Is it not any good?

You statistically have a 1/16 chance of entering a combination of words with a valid checksum. It is therefore normal for exodus to open an empty wallet, an address never used by anyone.
