How much of the Boston verse makes you actually wanna dig in a Baseball field. This verse starts with the writer Octave and ends with the Wright Brothers and we are looking for a specific wing but are we looking for a building, a airplane or a statue with wings and where do you exactly dig.
The options for a good wing in Roanoke that would fit the narrative of the puzzle are limited and I would guess that "North" in the Boston verse works the same as "Wright" does in the Roanoke verse.

Using the same logic one could say the Boston cask should've been at Paul Rever's "home" in the "north" end. The whole story lesson about Rever's ride is to put us in the general area. All these verses consist of three sections: history lesson, things visible at site, and directions to get there. Not necessarily in that order. The same works with Wright Bro's history lesson; a memorable event. The directions section talks about "dark forest" that is generally accepted to be Roanoke Island. And how to get to the dark forest, by using the "man of Oz" to the "land" (island) by the window (painting).

Exactly, So which one is Paul Revere and which one is the baseball field and pensonally I would add the Italian Columbus to the equation. Which gives us Elisabeth, the theater and the Wright Brothers. And digging right underneath the right wing would be just like digging north of the home plate but it's just a guess.

Excuses that plane will never work but you can still look north from the wing if you can find a "reliable" way to determine a dig spot around the three Wright stones or else just dig up the whole parking spot infront of the Elizabethan Garden.

Under that Which may be last touched Or first seen standing Look north at the wing And dig To achieve By dauntless and inconquerable Determination Your goal. It might just be right next to the giant monument.

"Under that Which may be last touched Or first seen standing" And what does the 'Wright Brother's history lesson' tell us? 'Orville, in coat and tie, lay flat on his stomach on the plane’s lower wing and took the controls. At 10:35 a.m., the Wright Flyer moved down the guiding rail with Wilbur running alongside to balance the delicate machine. For 12 seconds, the aircraft left the ground before touching down 120 feet away in the soft sands.' That which may be last touched? coimages.sciencemuseumgroup.org.uk/images/33/764/medium_1932_0337__0001_.jpgSo ...a wing. (The actual well-known famous photograph of the seminal event is taken in the second(s) after Wilbur last touched the wing, upon First Flight). Or first seen standing? The Wright Brothers monument 'wing'. (yes, I know some assert it's not meant to a wing, but what does it look like when first seen (and it's pretty much the first thing that is seen journeying up to the monument)? A wing. Mmm.. standing, too!). >but you can still look north from the wing< (Sure, you can look at plenty of things from the wing! i.imgflip.com/2/1jqcf8.jpg ) ..but, also, specifically, what does the verse say? " Look north at the wing" So you seem to have figured some of it out.

It seems like people get the "history lesson" part and pick a line from the directions and call it the day! There may be a misdirection attempt by Byron similar to Boston hunt as I mentioned above. Boston and Roanoke puzzles have near identical template. In fact Roanoke Island puzzle may be another sport related hunt. For this refer to the painting. It seems like the fairy is trying to dunk the ball into the keyring. Turn the image around 90 degrees and it looks like a football (soccer) goalie diving to save "goal". First seen, last touched: 1st and last words of verse are PASS and GOAL. In soccer the last player that can touch the ball is the goalie. Back to the painting, the crucified character has no legs/feet. This reminds me of the old foosball table figure. These puzzles were aimed at kids and the fun things kids were familiar with. Another thing, east/west/north/south are interchangeable with back/out/up/down.

Directly north of the "Grey Giant" right in front of the words Genius and Congress. Maybe the puzzles were made for kids from the 1980's but not anymore and they definitely have some deeper layers to confirm the dig spot. But now we have the internet which makes it a lot easier to confirm the locations or fall into deep rabbit holes and at the same time digging has also become a lot more difficult. Byron liked ships and trains so why not airplanes. The Wright Brothers and airplanes for Roanoke would probably be the best historical fit with most of the other puzzles. IMO there are only two wings that you would touch and/or probably see first or last and that's the giant wing or the entrance of the Elizabethan Garden. England is the home of soccer so it might just be a connection for England or it could be wordplay for the parking area that's shaped like an egg (American Football) or maybe even because Milwaukee, Charleston or SF is close to or buried in a Football field. Or its for the Sophomore Jinx with the little and big brother, soccer ball and bicycle from the garage image. Bicycles/English/German/French/Dutch/WrightBrothers etc “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” – Albert Einstein The Chicago verse starts with the Bowman statue and is basically a search for a bow and arrow or what we call the fence. -The bow of Apollo or Artemis made by the Cyclops Giants. The Boston verse starts with Xenophon and is a search for home. -Homerus, Xenophon & Socrates Cleveland is literally finding pandora's box. Montreal starts with l'ane/easel and is about finding the l'ane/easel or painter. (Milliarium Aureum) And if it's not at Rembrandt park then there is also a good statue with two bucks at the Stewart biology building. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/BuckridersRoanoke starts with a friend of the Wright Brothers and might be about finding the wings of Daedalus. New Orleans starts at Preservation Hall with music. And might be the search for an Arc of Light with the Arc de Triomphe from the city of lights.
The Milwaukee verse starts with Mitchell although this is also a juggler so it could be anywhere
