Is the decision that we need to make (referenced in the decrypted playfair) about older vs newer? Not older or newer.

Do we have to stick a hand into a spidery hole to find the way? I'm not gonna do that.
The riddly text can lead one all over the place. Just waiting for Shadowgate to solve it.

Road markers or landmarks, I wonder?

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm stuck on a mountain. It could be the start, end, middle or completely in the wrong place.

Still waiting for someone to solve this.
I heard from a few hunters. I think a few of the pieces to the puzzle are potentially out there in the hands of the hunters now, but not yet put together to search out the right connection to make the ultimate discovery of where the coordinates are to be found.

UPDATE: The puzzle is unsolved as of this moment
* Most hunters have found the playfair key, and hopefully realize the movie reference. * 1 or more hunters have found the hidden start and end reference of the path * the connections game had no clues to finding the exact path, but were to make sure you found the acrostic. * 1 or more hunters have deduced the kind of coordinates that fill in the blanks * I have no confirmation anyone has figured out what path is shown by the black lines and dots on the puzzle image. * Using google to find the path is possible, but it is difficult. It will take just the right terminology and possibly clicking through many search results.
Good Luck.

It's "possible" to find the answer using Google?
Isn't this an online puzzle? *facepalm*
These keep getting worse.
Feels like click-bait...start out as a fun image based puzzle with pop culture references, then half way through they turn into...something else (is the nicest way I can put it).

* Using google to find the path is possible, but it is difficult. It will take just the right terminology and possibly clicking through many search results. At some point I felt like the phrase "logic based" was used to describe what to expect with these. Randomly clicking through Google and using a thesaurus to tweak your search terms is the complete opposite of logic based. I imagine there are people that still enjoy what these are. I've given up because they turned out to not be what I expected / hoped for. I usually solve the cipher part because those are reasonable. I don't even dare, now, try to interpret the cryptic riddle reveled.

@retro If the starting and ending states are known would it be a good or bad idea to be looking at road maps?

@retro Thanks retro. That's what I was looking for, "the type of path". Planes, trains, automobiles, boats, wagons, on foot (too far), space travel (black route, white dots), other...
Waypoints for aircraft have 5-letter codes but there are a bunch of them.
You say that 1 or more hunters have deduced the kind of coordinates that fill in the blanks. I'm guessing that that would be a hint. Can't imagine latitude/longitude fitting into that pattern (well could but doesn't sound right).
Are we just missing hints in the pics and text for the type of path? Or, rather, am I missing them?

If I have to make an edumacated guess y'all I'd say we are looking for a trail marker that looks like this:
