Once you make the group of 4 connections they will be in color and give you the names of the groupings. For the discerning hunter they might be a clue that could lead you one step closer to victory.
the hint/clue might have been new information for some or perhaps unnecessary for others. I really don't know what everyone knows besides finding the playfair key.

In the connection game there are 4 categories. 2 categories reference the lone movie connection to the Wayfinder puzzle, and the other two categories try to get you to make a connection in the puzzle that might lead you to new information that gets you closer to finding your path.
