Hello, New to this hunt and wanted to bounce some things around in here. It appears that most people on this specific hunt are looking for a “Forrest Fenn” style of directions to lead them to where the Apple is buried/not buried. Start here, go this far, look for this, cross here and walk this far. If we are to take Martins (ReadandSeek guy) comments as truth when he said “Cam” told him it was a masquerade knockoff then why are we looking for specific clues as to landmarks freeways and not a solution to a specific location through the riddles in the story as masquerade was solved? This was written by a mathematician, not an artist (if we believe the credentials at the back to be true). There was no GPS systems available for public use before this story was written in 82’. Looking for gps coordinates seems fruitless. But the method of concealment screams for the riddle to give a location somewhere (like masquerade) and not clues to specific places to move you to the eventual spot (forrest fenn like). I have a degree in mathematics as well and that’s how I will be attempting to solve this hunt. Very curious as to method of using the book to account for the the true authors name. I know this is ultimately a competition but would be more than willing to sign an NDA of not sharing his name. The encryption method would probably go a long way at solving hunt.

I have gone through the book numerous times at this point and have uncovered some things I have yet to see mentioned here. I am native to Michigan, but I will not baselessly make solves fit Michigan (Grand Rapids specifically), I will let the info lead me to whatever conclusion it takes me. Looking to solve this thing with some like minded individuals. Whoever had the access to the historical ariels could you drop me a direct message? Think that would be of tremendous help in trying to visualize what 1982 looked like. Thanks.

I may be wrong but I dont think he will give you the name sounds like he wants the fame...

I don’t need to know his name that has little of importance to me. I am interested in the method in which it was concealed more than anything. Is it through the pictures is it encoded in the text? This is what I think will go a long way. Knowing the authors name definitely wouldn’t hurt but how it is encrypted it is the key here. They were pretty vague from the Code Bar podcast episode talking about how they could essentially only reverse engineer the story once they already had a name in mind. That’s how I interpreted it at least.
