I wonder how many locations out there have these exact same 'steps' present. Check out Mr. Chappelear's hunt just a few days ago > www.facebook.com/groups/1655174334784219/permalink/1716509938650658/And several other of you, in completely different states, have found the exact same instructions work to the letter, landmark to landmark. It's uncanny.

I'm somewhat reluctant to share this now that a couple of you chose to be rather uncivil about things, but here is the slimmed down version. We found a numbered metal tag in Persian blue. The number on it was 536. We associated the 508 (starting time) + 28 chapters = 536 a numeric ending. There were other reasons why we believed this to be the item - additional elements in the environment that directed us to this, and we thought the numbers game was pretty indicative of PB's style. We thought we had it. He'd used medallions in the past, and what non-hunter would suspect an out of place tree tag nailed into the earth and mess up the hunt? It all seemed to align and how clever and unexpected. Alas, it wasn't to be. It's still out there, fellas. Happy Hunting.

All can rejoice. I was unsuccessful in my find, says PB with his official response.
Happy hunting.

Wow, that escalated quickly. Haha. So much for being excited and participating.
It's a competitive treasure hunt, I get it.
Happy hunting!

As far as the three stories, IMO, one is this one, one will be about the Mystery of the Belted Rubies, and one will be about the last three weeks of Nelson's mom's life (maybe one about Fred and Myrtle). As far as February 9th, 2017 at 5:08pm Central Time, TheCoyWonder, you aren't the only one to have this completely figured out... my family and I will be searching here for the next three days, as well. It would be pretty funny to find another searcher here. Best of luck, minotaurmoreno . My find has not been confirmed and thus I could easily be wrong. Happy hunting and stay safe. Let us know how it goes.

Hey hunters, I've been a lurker here this week, so this is my first post to the forums. Cowlazars put me onto this hunt and it's been a fun one. After reading, some Google Map work, and reviewing all of PB's past interviews and articles, I took the family out on our first hunt to --REDACTED-- . - We arrived after a local lunch at the parking spot I believed the book lead me to, and we struck off looking for that tree-eating rock, and sure enough, after a serious hike, we found it.
- 840 paces later we hit a crossroads and selected what we believed to be the "Yellow Brick Road".
I'm 5'10" and I feel my stride might match Pete's. - Later we hit the "wide rock formation clearly in our path" marker. We were pretty excited at this point.
- Then, 190 paces to an area just off from a landmark.
- We approached and scoured it. Over, under, all adjacent.
- Nada
- But then my daughter found "something" and it blew our minds. Very clever of PB, if it is the "treasure."
- We hiked out. Photo documented our process and the object. We sent in the official submission this evening.
If it turns out we we're right, I'll let you guys know. We feel very good about the find, but you know how it goes, we could be fooling ourselves, too.
If it's not, I'll let you know, too, so we can all keep searching.
