that looks like the south san francisco hills looking from the south. With you there. Was going to say it looks like the South side of things. From page 127 - Who/what is "G.E." on the briefcase? What have people made out about the glaring barred window there?

Any thoughts on the Pioneer Monument? Built by an immigrant, the image of the goddess of Wisdom? (Education...?) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pioneer_Monument_(San_Francisco)Jumps out because the SF courthouses/main library branch are all situated in that area. This area was where I first thought of when I heard "Education and Justice". However, some translations of the Japanese version suggest to add something to this line. I take this as "Education, justice, and _______" Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? Who knows.

"It's gotten so bad that in 2013 the city planned to erect a seven-foot-high fence around the monument, to protect the 25th President from San Francisco's unappreciative modern-day inhabitants."
Uhoh. Lol

I'm not sure if knowing when the casque was buried would impact the images in the book or not, certainly would impact the verses. So what we do know is that the San Francisco casque was buried in June 1980 because of James Renner's documentary where he interviewed Sandi Mendelson, Byron's widow. She specifically remembers Byron prepping the casque and key for burial at this time and then he went off somewhere alone and buried it. I believe this is the only casque that we know the exact month and year it was buried, so take that info for what it is worth.

I've seen that too. The two of them also lived in SF outside of planting the treasure, so going a bit further, we have to believe he had more than a "passing knowledge" of the city. He got his Masters at nearby Stanford, so he was at least more familiar with SF than somebody sitting on Google Earth today.
Another thing that makes me roll my eyes is when people try to go with the "sunlight at 6 PM" route, casting shadows or whatever. This signifies to me that people have not spent as much time in San Francisco to have the background knowledge necessary to make this solve. Priess would have NEVER had a clue in San Francisco dependent on sunlight, especially in the month of June - San Francisco is notoriously cloudy/overcast. Requiring sunlight to find the dig spot would be malicious. There's simply a 0% chance sunlight is involved.
6:00 is the month. June. That's it.

I respect Dustin and Deidra White and their passion for The Secret, but agree that the "Shadow Theory" is completely bogus. That whole thing got pretty nasty on some of those Facebook pages and Q4T after the 2nd EU episode on The Secret aired. I don't know why people just couldn't say sorry I don't agree and move on? I do like that they tried bringing in a new idea, unfortunately for them it wasn't a very good one. On the other hand though the Whites have some very good ideas on specific puzzles that I'm in agreement with them on, just not San Francisco or the broader "Shadow Theory".

On the other hand though the Whites have some very good ideas on specific puzzles that I'm in agreement with them on, just not San Francisco or the broader "Shadow Theory". I have heard about their whole debacle, it's really sad. I can be quite critical of theories, but I also don't share most of my actual theories because I'm still in the process of fact-checking myself. I've been finding it difficult to find people in the "practical approach" - which is why I stay far, FAR away from Facebook. For every one post where somebody is onto something, there's about 100 where it's blatantly obvious they've never set foot in San Francisco. Of course it's fine to do internet research and investigation on Google Earth, but these puzzles were meant for foot-to-the-ground exploration, and in my opinion, a history lesson on the target city. Watching these people draw circles around Golden Gate Park is so laughable to me. It would be like finding the New York cask in Central Park, or a Washington DC cask on the front lawn of the White House. Too obvious, too easy. The verses involve nuance, and can not be solved solely at a computer. I believe this is why the 9 remaining casks are still underground.
