Who do you think will find Forrest's Treasure Chest?
NOT NAMES, but type of person.
Forrest writes in TTOTC: "There must be a few Indiana Jones types out there, like me, ready to throw a bedroll in the pickup and start searching, with a reasonable chance of discovering a treasure chest....."
What will it take?
A person who loves to explore and has Perseverance and Imagination mixed in with Knowledge of geography?

A construction worker....it’s the only way Is that what you do? A friend asked me this question recently, and it got me to consider, what is exactly needed to find the treasure? It is someone who can understand/think like Forrest and figure the poem out, but what exactly is needed to do that?

I was going to say a skilled carpenter but iswhatitis beat me to it. A really good one can start from a concept and visualize it and make a plan to see it through.

Someone who can make the connections Fenn lays out for us, in the poem, book, scrapbooks, etc. - it's all there, it needs to be connected to the location.

Someone who isn't a follower and can think for him/herself, who can tune out the hype and isn't easily distracted from every latest and greatest new quote - which I believe Forrest alluded to in his most recent 4 questions with Jenny. Wait, I just disqualified myself lol.

Well Hate to burst your bubbles NPS and ISWHATITIS... but I was a carpenter for 17 years working in commercial and residential construction building over 300 homes. . . . . . I don't have the chest . . . . . yet.

Well let's see.
I think the person who finds his chest will be someone unique. They do not fit the societal norm. What I mean by that is that they will most likely live alone, with no family. They are an introvert by nature. No one can truly hunt for this treasure seriously without full commitment...without distractions. You need to focus on everything. Not just the poem. I just don't think that family men or women can do that effectively. Just my 10 cents.

Very insightful IW. An understanding of the devious mind will be helpful. The ability to design an investigation eliminating theory is critical. Constant proximity to the search area is cost effective. And the understanding that you have not figured out the last clue until you find the next one is of major importance. But what do I know about such things...

Maybe another questions would be: "What type of person does Forrest Fenn 'really' think will find the treasure? Is it the redneck from Texas? And if so, why? If not, why?'
