Hi Bownarrow, just to clarify for anyone reading this, you don't actually think Forrest has multiple personality disorder, you are just suggesting he writes/uses different aliases correct? Hi goldi,
I am not suggesting that ff actually has multiple personality disorder.
I just use it as an analogy for the idea that he uses the words I/me in his writings etc to refer to two different people - himself and the architect - in different contexts. I am suggesting that his use of different aliases on Dals' forum a is hint pointing at what I am suggesting.
“It doesn't matter who you are , it only matters who they think you are."
is another of ff's favorite sayings. It also seems to point in the same direction.
Hope that clarifies things.

If the "I/me" referred to his ff's statements refer to different individuals in different places, this provides a potential logical explanation for many of the apparent contradictions that appear in them. By changing the referent, the respect in which a statement is made changes and thus the apparent contradiction dissolves.
An important conclusion that may be derived from the idea that the poem was written by somone else other than ff, is that trying to find out about the places he has been in his life, his timeline etc may be a massive red herring.
This I realise, might a hard pill for some to swallow, but it also has a positive side. It drastically reduces the amount of material that one has to sift through looking for hints.

Forrest fire You crack me up . You talk like the Forrest in you is separate from the Mr Fenn. You don’t have a split personality do you ? I always thought that both were one in the same.

I became interested in writing when I learned I could forge my father’s signiture on my arithmetic report card so he wouldn’t know what my grade was. That curtain came down one day when I misspeled his name. I wasn’t very good at spelling either.f
I always wondered whether Woody Bogg was another alias of ff's - for obvious reasons. If so this exchange would mean that ff is deliberatley drawing attention to the idea of a split personality. Even without Woody Bogg being one and the same as ff, it does seem that ff/Forrest Fire is still drawing attention to the idea of a split personality/multiple personalities.
Could the "mispelling" of bog as bogg imply that Woody Bogg is Forrest Fenn?

Another quote that points towards the idea of multiple personalities/split personality etc is:
"Occasionally it's wise for the fox to dress like the hound." (p7)

"For an aged kid from Texas, the Palm Springs experience was both ego shrinking and mind expanding."
"Don't let your ego take you beyond your limit"
And who remembers the time FF told a woman that she could either have the treasure chest or her ego?
IMO, finding what lies beyond the insincerity and trickery of the ego is the most fundamental aspect of the Chase. Scrapbook 128 points the way IMO.

How does one humble themselves? You have to give up being egocentric.

Also it helps to not be in charge of nothing. And just try to help or be helpful, but don't accept no credit, just do it. I read that somewhere once.for being humble

Since the fox is the quarry that is being chased in a hunt, the above quote seems to suggest that the fox is what we should be chasing after.
I believe that the fox and the architect are one and the same - ff's alter ego.
Also:
Once I found the identity of the architect I discovered that the individual once lived in the garden of the Castle Of Love. This would explain, at least in part, why the hiding spot in the garden would be a special place for him/her.

The header picture with the island is of Emerald Bay at Lake Tahoe.
One of the things that helps in identifying the Castle of Love is noticing that it is located on an island on the Allegorical map of the Siege of the Castle of Love.
This is similar to the island with the remains of the building on it depicted in the header photo on Dal's site. The island in that photo is Fannette island in Lake Tahoe.

The ruins of a small stone building stand on the island. This ruin is the "Tea House", constructed by Mrs. Lora Josephine Knight, the owner of Vikingsholm.

While Mrs. Knight is known for building Vikingsholm, she and her businessman husband Harry were also primary backers of Charles Lindbergh's non-stop solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean in 1927.

When I think about the Spirit of St Louis, I now can’t help but relate Dizzy Dean, in which a movie was made after called, “The pride of St Louis”..when it comes to St Louis and the thrill of the chase I think of the final chapter of ouaw. Is Forrest trying to tell us we are in the final chapter of the chase?

Etta began as a diminutive of the name Henrietta meaning estate ruler.
Fannette = Fenn etta = fenn estate ruler

for the love of God = pour l'amour du ciel(F.)
Forrest, if you were invited to one of the legendary costume parties thrown at El Delirio (the shared estate of Martha Root White and Amelia Elizabeth White in Santa Fe in the early 20th Century) – what characters or creations would you and Peggy show up as? ~Billy in Texas
Billy, When I was asked that question many years ago about going to a masquerade party I said I’d wear my best clothes and go as a bum.*
* wear my best clothes and go as a bum = dress like a bum = disguise myself as a bum
So:
hound = dog = god = ciel(F.) = heaven = nef(W.) = fen = fenn
So:
Occasionally it's wise for the fox to dress like the hound. -> Occasionally it's wise for the fox to dress like Fenn -> Occasionally it's wise for the fox to disguise itself as Fenn
