dalneitzel.com/2020/07/22/15/Updated July 22nd, 2020 by Forrest Many of the searchers for my treasure had solves that seemed to neatly fit the clues in my poem. Then when the finder found and retrieved the treasure, other searchers wondered how close they had been to the right spot. Because I promised the finder I would not reveal who found it or where, I have remained mostly silent. However, the finder understands how important some closure is for many searchers, so today he agreed that we should reveal that the treasure was found in Wyoming. Until he found the treasure, the treasure had not moved in the 10 years since I left it there on the ground, and walked away. Perhaps today’s announcement will bring some closure to those whose solves were in New Mexico, Colorado, or Montana. To all of those who did not find the treasure, we hope that you got some enjoyment from the chase. f

This confirmation makes the line in the poem.... Why is it I must go..... certainly seem like 'of course'... WY is it......

The answers to all of the clues were in Yellowstone, as was the treasure, which is why the finder doesn’t want to reveal the location. He could reveal the location and remain anonymous, but as soon as he did so, there would very likely be a legal challenge from the Federal Govt.

"...so today he agreed that we should reveal that the treasure was found in Wyoming."
What if they both agreed to lie about it?

I guess it is worse now for those who searched Wyoming ! At least those with Montana, like me have closure. Not sure about Yellowstone as the solve though.

I'll bet this will explode like a geyser when it hits the newsstand!
I'm sure Josh Gates will be a little surprised!

I guess it could be worse. Aliens could have stolen Forrest's body, replaced him with a pod, while flying insects carried him away to Ozland.

Amazing. I actually never thought it would be released. It was not my state. I will definitely go back and dig up my Wyoming notes now to see if I can get any closer. Better late than never! Thank you Forrest and Finder for this piece of closure and congrats to all of you Wyoming searchers!

I knew it was in WY, but NOT in Yellowstone I know on an old video you said you thought it was in Fremont County. I don't know if you changed. My solve led me to Fremont County. I was always curious if you had anything to lead you to that conclusion other than John Charles Whatever and his olive jar.

Thank You for the information. That is closure enough for me as I had it in New Mexico.
That throws out the theory about the Chase starting small and local and that the treasure must be closer to Santa Fe. Wyoming is just a little bit more than 8.25 miles north of there.

" I did not find this specific (on the ground) in the poem. I believe that once a searcher followed the instructions to the final location and marking, it would have become obvious

“So I wrote a poem containing nine clues that if followed precisely, will lead to the end of my rainbow and the treasure.”
“So .... if followed precisely, will lead to .... the treasure.”
So why is it ....
So Wyoming is it.
