I think the "ONE HIT, BAM!" is an homage to, and hint to, the solve of Chapter Four. And that we should look for other such hints. If you think about the rules laid down so far, no, you don't absolutely have to have something, in this case, in Chapter Three in order to solve something in Chapter Four. Like "ONE HIT, BAM!" being a hint toward One hit wonders. So that rule isn't broken. Thoughts? You don't need the "hint" to solve chapter 4. Everything you need to solve chapter 4 is in the chapter so I don't think this would break the rule you are referring to. Yes, Boston - that's my point. Unless you're simply agreeing with me. ?? Asking for "thoughts" was more of a question of whether or not you think this method may be being used throughout the four chapters or not. If it is then maybe we can spot other hints and figure out what the key pointers are for the other three.

I don't think it's a bad idea to look for hints in other chapters as you described (it's always good to keep an open mind) but I haven't found anything conclusive in that regard. I only say this because Riley says "One hit, bam!" at the end of the chapter. The only hints I found that correlate to the Chapter Four solve are in Chapter Four; but, again, it doesn't hurt to try a method like you have suggested.

The emphasis on "PH" must come into play here in Ch. 3.

I’ve been working on chapter 3 since chapter 4 was solved. I’ve tried so many angles, I have pages of notes. Nothing yet. It is soooo tempting to jump chapters but I think sticking with it is the way to go. I’ve ruled out so many things, I started with lists of the PH and F words in the article, the words before & after them, as well as the verbs meaning “said” since it seemed like an odd , varied assortment. Tried different punctuation marks, even before chapter 2 was solved (although I had never thought of commas.). Knowing there’s a solution keeps me going. I found the word hobby, but nothing else around it.

Up until now I haven’t checked out the FB group. But yesterday I started reading through those posts. Dave actually answers questions there. FWIW he specifically said hints to solve a chapter will not be found in other chapters. When “One Hit, Bam” was pointed out, he said something like “Titles of chapters are not part of chapters.”
Which is a bit of a lame answer and I’m not sure how to take that. I think either he’s saying chapter titles can contain hints, or more likely to me, One Hit Bam is an exception and he’s not admitting to the fact that his “no hints in other chapters” statement was false in that instance. But either way, I think we can take him at his word that the text of a chapter does not hold a hint for another chapter.

Hmm so if 'titles of chapters are not part of chapters," and all we need to solve is contained within each chapter, does this mean they may not actually hold a hint towards solving that chapter? Like we were thinking with the lack of commas in Winner Winner Chicken Dinner being a hint to how that chapter was solved? Dang it.. I had been assuming the titles came into play to at least point us in a direction so that we don't have to wait for 'hints' to be posted before these things can really be solved. I might just stop working on it at this point until the next round of hints come out...

I'm convinced chapter 3 can be solved without an additional clue. I've got something that feels like it fits his intent, but there's an element I'm missing, similar to the chapter 4 solve.

I went back over all comments, posts etc... and found subtle nods to the solves for chapters 1,2, and 4....but chapter 3 seems to be overlooked. Or it might be one of those 'can't see it, 'til you see it' kind of things! lol

Chapter 3 “one hit, bam!”
Has quotations and an exclamation point. The solve has to have something to do with that, looking at the word play for all the other clues and chapters and solves.

No, I’m not sure but every chapter so far as used some form of word play and zero ciphers/ anagrams. The chapter titles have had some hinting of methods though Chapter 3 “one hit, bam!” Has quotations and an exclamation point. The solve has to have something to do with that, looking at the word play for all the other clues and chapters and solves. But do you think they would use a "punctuation involved" solve twice?

I’m close to an answer on this one, but there’s something else I’m missing that’s obscuring part of the solution. Works for 5 letters then error, 4 letters then error, 6 letters etc. I’ve guessed what it says, but don’t want to go to the site without a finished solve. Anyone have any idea what could cause random errors like that?

I was on to the "ly" adverbs based on the Chap 4 title, but was trying to use adverb-subject-verb pairings. What there anything to suggest looking at the "ing" words?
