So....I suspect that there is no Theco DeMaster (even under a different name) and that Dave really did write the chapters. Anyone else think Theco is Dave's alter ego and is just a way for him to claim that he doesn't know the coding methods?
There are a couple reasons why I suspect this.
1. I know of at least one other person, not related at all to ATHs, who would publish under a totally different name and call him his alter ego when he wanted to write something that wasn't in line with his normal style. He always talked about this other person as if he were real.
2. Dave claims that he doesn't know how each location is coded, but then he says things like the Play Fair Cipher is definitely not used, any cipher method would be explained in the chapter, if you can't explain your method in one sentence, you don't have the correct method, there aren't multiple ciphers used at once (implied in the Hitler video), typos and mistakes will not affect getting the solution.
This last claim is the most suspicious to me. If the method involves counting letters or something, then throwing the count off because a typo leaves a letter out of a word would have an effect.
How could Dave possibly know that unless he knows the coding methods?
He also said that Theco is a local man (which would be true about himself) and when someone on the chat asked if Theco by his real name would be known to the treasure-hunting community, Dave answered, "I don't think so."
Suspicious. If he really did hire some local writer to ghost write the book, the answer would be a quick "No." Besides, why would you hire someone else to write it?
But claiming that someone else wrote it would be a good way to dodge questions about the methods.
What do you think?
