“Yet Fairy Secrets come in Twos”Now that line has me thinking what this might mean. You have the George Washington image and the JFK image both in the painting.
Not only does the line “near Ace is high “ refer to the George Washington High school near GGP, but both the image in the painting and the High school are north of or above the JFK image/JFK drive. The George Washington image that is depicted in what I call the tree bark of the painting is also a reference to the George Washington Sequoia. It was the second tallest Sequoia at one point in time. This could also be interpreted as being “ near ace is high”, near the number one high tree is the George Washington tree.
Now the fact that there is usually a clue to the final location of the casque in all the paintings I believe what people call a hill with an Alcatraz window near the top is actually the depiction of a window from Spreckels mansion ( sits near the top of the hill) on the bark of a giant Sequoia. So Spreckels and Giant Sequoia tie in together. Where else would you find a Giant Sequoia but by Spreckels lake. The tree bark in the painting is the clue to the final location like the fence and fixture was for the Chicago casque or home plate for Boston. I feel that an object of Twain’s attention must be depicted in the painting . This is what has most people stumped ( no pun intended). In the painting it’s big ,it’s obvious and it’s starring you in the face. The Giant Sequoia is the “object of Twain’s attention”. Keep it Simple. You also see this for JFK where “education and justice for all to see refers to the JFK drive road sign and the fact that JFK’s image is in the bark as well ties into the fact that JFK’s last birthday party just before his assassination was on the presidential yacht called the Sequoia.

I think people overthink the reference to Twain. The puzzle is for month of June, Gemini, twin, twain, yin yang, east west. Try a two-headed dragon for fun; both on Lombard St.
[Added:] BTW, Not far away -- High posts are three is a riddle that gives you the name of the park. I recently hinted to it in this forum.

Lots of possibilities out there for a solve. I’m giving searchers a small area to check out. I like to read the clues as literal ( simple). The only Twain I know is Mark Twain ( simple), and what does Mark Twain and California have in common? It’s the Giant Redwood that he had cut down. Now some think of a paddle steamer tied up at the docks, but that can move about and that’s more related to the Mississippi not California. No paddle steamer in the painting. No boats of any kind. What do you see in the painting that represents an object of Twain’s attention?

For me, the Rose, friend. Google about Mark Twain's dream, something that no-one else ever seems to have considered. Cheers

The Rose is a possibility, but it seems too obscure. That poem talks about white roses and the red rose in the dream. Where is this Red Rose in San Francisco ? This red rose has to be a fixed and permanent object and in the park. How is this Rose related to California/ San Francisco?

In the image I see a lot of reference to Twain (Gemini twin). Table leg hides two faces as mirror images. Zodiac symbol for Gemini is II; a bunch of those on the robe. Twain and California have many locations/objects in common. Literally speaking Mark Twain's attention could be interoperated as any structure or statue 12 feet tall standing in attention i.e. Columbus statue. As locations go, Mark Twain St., park, hotel comes to mind. Also Montgomery St., lands end.

The problem I have with that is your turning Twain into Gemini Twin where as I’m looking at it as Mark Twain ( simple, no deviation from the word). That Twain object has to be in the park and in the painting as well. Just reading the lines. ” in jewels direction is an object of Twain’s attention giant pole” tells me it’s a pole , wood, tree ( a Giant tree), and nothing else. Might the tail of the dragon represent a knot ( sailors knot). Again this could tie into the model boat sailing club on Spreckels lake

The casque is buried in Golden Gate Park next to the Prayerbook Cross. “Near ace is high running north, but first across”, ace is referring to 1 highway running north through the park and then curves to the right and located at that curve is the Prayerbook Cross aka the Sir Francis Drake Cross!!! The Cross is the “ giant pole giant step”! There are at least 2 cross’ located in the painting.
Happy Hunting!!! Bronco Memo

OK. This is for both Broncomemo and Choice. Can you each sketch out on a map and post it, showing from start to finish the path you take and how each line of the verse relates to areas on the map. Remember in the Japanese hints he states not to think of sweet as in taste . So no sugary locations allowed, no flowers, no candies, no chocolate, no sugar. Now I could be wrong but all 3 casques that have been recovered so far are from parks that boarder large bodies of water. So I’m going to assume that this is a common theme to the remaining puzzles. The way I see it is that the blue colour in all the paintings , other than the jewels, represents either sky or water.
Choice, Personally I think “Trade Mark” is too far removed from the line in the verse. Can you even see this Trade Mark sign from the park you think the casque is buried in? Also how do the other lines in the verse fit in to this park? . The same goes for Twain goes to Twin which goes to Gemini which goes to twin dragon. Why stop there ? All of a sudden you’ve gone from Twain to Dragon . Keep it Simple. In the Japanese hints he states that it is a name and since it is capitalized , I’m going to keep it simple and call it Mark Twain not Trade Mark or Gemini or twin dragon. None of the clues were really that complicated for the first 3 casques . Once you got to the treasure ground and looked around it all made sense. Mind you a lot of changes have occurred over the last 40 years so some of the visual clues may not even be there today.

I'm not jumping from Twain to Gemini and to 2 dragons. They are all present in the same sign that is visible from street level. There are multiple of these signs on that building. Here's a compilation bbi put together recently. I have a slightly different interpretation to 3 posts, 3 wooden observation posts and a twist to the dig spot but still a good read. drive.google.com/file/d/108XruuheXp6Z9n3NKlcUjY3_Dw3fJePV/view

Well…..🤔. I read that theory and I can see where it’s heading , but I still think the entire verse has to fit in a park and that park has to be by some water. It’s basically saying to dig on private property. There is a big leap of faith when you call the “giant pole “ pine street etc. How does pine street become a giant? I think BP gives you a hint “like feel at home” and shows you home plate. So home is tied into the clue, Home doesn’t get changed to house/ apartment/ condo etc. The “feel “ part is the same as touch . You could also say “touch home”. Sounds a lot like baseball to me. This is why I think “ Giant” is in the description of the object and pole is a tree . This is the reference to the Giant Sequoia that Twain had cut down and most of the tree was turned into posts. I know it’s difficult since there are more than a few giant Sequoias around. My theory fell into place after watching George Ward talk about the cap on the dragons nose. That was it for me. The cap on the nose means something stinks, unpleasant odour , so the slang/ euphemism we would use in the past was something like “ man that sure smells sweet or like roses”. You could also interpret that as a breath of fresh ( sweet),air once you step out of the washroom to the outside, or some might even consider an ocean breeze as sweet air. It might even be the sweet smell of success at Spreckels mansion stone wall door, but that would not tie in with the cap on the dragon’s nose. There is some use of slang / euphemism in some verses that may through off younger treasure hunters that did not grow up during this era. Even at that ,some slang/ euphemism might only be endemic to certain areas of the country. Even visual clues in the paintings could have a slang attached to them ,leading you to the final location.

There was a tree named after him that was cut down but he didn't have it cut down as far as I know.

Your correct Mark Twain did not have the tree cut down from what I can see ,but I’m sure if the tree was named Mark Twain prior to being cut down in 1891 then he would have been aware of that incident since he passed away in 1910. Treatment and awareness are just two of the definitions for the word attention. It would be interesting to know why they called it the Mark Twain tree then cut it down. Maybe someone did not like Twain?
