I have received a lot of well-thought out, interesting submissions. I am learning a lot from the submissions, not only about historical events, but about my own puzzle design. I know eventually someone will figure out my puzzle. But I don't want people to get frustrated by wasting a lot of time going down unnecessary rabbit holes. I have decided to try something, and I hope this will help those of you who are trying to puzzle things out... As discussed, there are what we have been calling "mini puzzles". To me, they seem rather easy, but I know from your end, they are a different beast! What I propose, is that if you POST a solution to one of the mini puzzles here on this thread, if it is correct, I will let you know. I may only confirm two or three. I just want everyone to see the solutions, and maybe get an idea of what they have in common. These are much more easy than people are making them out to be. I will let everyone know when I feel that I have confirmed enough correct mini puzzle submissions to give people an idea of what you need. You may want to go back through the posts and see what has been discussed. One mini puzzle can be deduced after the others are solved and the common thread is found. Another mini puzzle is different from the rest and will not help with the common thread. So choose wisely. (*Also, I am not home all day, and don't have my phone with me at all times, so I can't follow this thread 24/7. Keep that in mind when awaiting a reply.) Answer to mini-puzzle: Opposite and Widdershins--Not sure if this is one puzzle or two.

Those are not mini-puzzles.

singtune4u,
I assume this is your answer to the number pyramid. Can I ask how you came to these specific numbers? Because so many others fit!
Thanks!

PrIdE reduced to humble pie --> PIE DiAmoNdS down to sand --> SAND He and She are in the HouSE--> SHE (and he?) There's only me at hoME--> ME
if you unscramble PIE SAND SHE ME... you can get the word "emphasis" but other letters are left over. This together with Opposite and Widdershins made me believe this was the common thread, but I'm beginning to suspect my third solution is not be correct.
perhaps you use the "opposite letters"? p R i D e --> RD?

bunkbink, Go back and look at the discussion on what the mini puzzles are. What you have presented is not one of them.
singtune4u, As discussed, there are several correct mathematical options for the number pyramid. Only one can be correct. 2545 is not correct.
Once the solutions are found for some of the mini puzzles, the choices between which of the numbers for the number pyramid should be used, becomes somewhat obvious....if you are on the right track. I am only going to confirm two or three of these mini puzzles depending on how things progress. As I said, choose wisely in which mini puzzles you want to try to confirm.

I just have a question. I get it if you can't answer it, but I think it would keep us from unintentionally going down some dark rabbit holes. Have you used one or more ciphers/codes in your puzzle (your forte) as opposed to just sticking with math or word game type puzzles?

Bunkbink, You may or may not need to discuss things that are not mini puzzles in your final solution. You have to explain how you arrived at your final solution.
Stercox, I will let you, and everyone else, figure out if there are any ciphers or not.
Thanks for the questions. I'm sorry if I can't answer everything.

I'm not quite sure what's considered a mini puzzle, and what is a major piece of the puzzle, but I'll take a try at what I think is a mini puzzle. In the bottom left-hand corner the 7, 3, and Ace playing cards line up with an R and N from the other cards to spell "LEARN". The LEARN ends on the KO (punching lady) playing card, which also has a 1 on it, with the 22 cent stamp overlaying. Perhaps LEARN is telling us to learn about a KO on 1-22-73 (7, 3 from first two playing cards that stood for L and E), which would be the fight between Foreman and Frazier that ended with a knockout. From that, down for the count, or countdown.

I like that pugdaisy920 . I was thinking Countdown to Lift Off, but didn't know where to confirm such an idea. Good thought .

Our solution to the number pyramid is Pi Day.
The number 1 on the white background in the painting is on its left side. That is an instruction to start with 1 in the left box. When you do that the only possible solution is 1636.
As was mentioned in this thread 1636 was the date in Sol days that the martian rover Curiosity took pictures, which equates to March 14, 2017. Which happens to be pi day and relates to the title of this hunt.

I also think 1636 is the correct number in the pyramid, but for a different reason: it is the only possible expression for a TIME.

How does 1636 equates to March 14, 2017? If you put 1636 into excel and convert, the date is Thursday, June 23, 1904. EDIT: Aww... reread, SOL days The "n" in learn is technically the lower half of the "R" in joker... not sure if that is why we do not need to research the cards
