I think there are only a couple of teams still actively working on this puzzle. We all seem to have gone down similar paths and are equally stuck. The "u" has me completely stumped. There are not really any U's in the puzzle. So does it reference a word beginning with "u"? Upside Down, underline?? Or is it an "n" that is upside down? Or does "i" somehow become "n"? Is it a hint to a cipher method? There are a ton of "i"s in the puzzle, so I could do something with that. Not that it does me much good... And the alarm clock... Is that telling us to wake the heck up and solve the thing?? Or does it mean "time" plays a role... I've tried to make the thing some sort of giant clock... with no success. Solstice/Equinox seems to be a theme. All of the other ciphers/solves in the puzzle were simple once figured out. So I feel everyone is over-complicating the solution. But maybe not... WHAT ARE WE ALL MISSING!!! ? I've tried to make it into a clock face also, but I can't seem to get the correct order of the star field. I think it's either a substitution or vigenere based on the fact that there aren't many vowels. I agree with you though, I think I am overcomplicating it.

You guys aren't alone. I feel that we've been exhaustive in our efforts...trying both to see things simply as though through the eyes of an open-minded child, or by applying every possible variant of puzzle-solving methods we've learned over the years. There are so few elements in the clue it seems that they should quickly spark the new insights we need, but I've not learned anything new from it yet. The meaning of u/i/i/u...no idea.
Someday we'll get this. So curious to learn whether the method will end up being something simple we've all overlooked, something not simple we all overlooked, or something in between.

I found a scan of the original drawing online. It looks like she added the constellations and removed a star near the moon before adding the letters. I don't know if that helps.

I bought the book to compare. She also added the star at the center bottom.

I just want to quickly hop in here to confirm my book Higher and Higher is not at all needed to solve the puzzles. I just used an image from it, for background, as it was the book that inspired the MW Diamonds.

Yesterday morning skdaizy asked:
"Jenny, do we need to solve all the surrounding puzzles before we can solve the sky? Or do they more give you a nudge/direction?"
I liked that question (it seemed general enough to be appropriate for a public forum) and was curious to see if there would be a reply. In the absence of one, I was wondering if you would you prefer that participants not ask questions like that here. I'm sure we're all eager for a new morsel but I'm also sure we'd all want to respect the way you'd like this forum to be used.

I don't want to begin Q/A's........ they often lead to misunderstandings.... and cause searchers more confusion......as can sometimes clues...... (sorry) However.....I'll announce the release of another clue a few days ahead of time....but it will be sooner than later.... probably in July.... I would like this to be solved......

I just want to quickly hop in here to confirm my book Higher and Higher is not at all needed to solve the puzzles. I just used an image from it, for background, as it was the book that inspired the MW Diamonds. I know. But it does help to know what was added. For example, I spent a lot of time pondering why the star in the lower left had points but none of the others in the image did. But when I got the book I could see that a pointy star was part of the original. So right or wrong, my conclusion was to ignore it. Same with the caterpillar and the owls in the tree.

I just thought that one or more of the added stars may be important.

Just occurred to me what LX59 might represent. I'm not sure of the significance. But it could just be coincidence.

Based on how easy Jenny said it is, we're all going to be kicking ourselves when the answer comes out.

We surrender!!! Can we have another hint?? We are all dying here trying to figure out what we are missing.

I counted 17 letters. Does everyone agree? That number doesn't divide nicely into anything: groups of 5 for Bacon, pairs of letters, etc.
Which implies a simple substitution cipher to me.
Unless of course not all the letters are supposed to be used and we have some decoys.
