We got the runes, the grille, the ottendorf, and the other book cipher, but not the roman numerals. There's probably other things we missed in there. Think we just missed it, a little late on the submission. Kudos to the winner(s). It was very challenging and fun. I never have worked with a grille in a treasure hunt before. So fun!!

My postmortem solve of the roman numerals, which is totally based on confirmation bias, is this:
She has a series of numbers. The way they're drawn, getting fainter and smaller in the distance, is implying a never-ending series.
The numbers when viewed upside-down and mirrored, and assuming the v is just a separator, are valid roman numerals: III v XIXII v XIXI v XIX
So, 3 1112 1111 1110 etc.
This implies that what we can't see at the front of the line is 111. But...maybe this line of numbers is just meant to imply 'counting.'
So if you're staring at 3 with 'counting', the logical take away might be 4. (For in this case).
That's a stretch, I know. I kept trying to use the numbers as a book cipher along with the numbers at the bottom. So maybe Page 11, Line 13, Letter 5

That's great! Got most of that! I also noticed the WHO letters are in the colors cyan, magenta, and yellow (CMY (k)) which implies something written. But could just be coincidence.
Ah, that makes sense about the roman numerals. I just couldn't quite come up with it.

LOL At one point I was going to send in King Magnus as the solution, as the question I saw on the page was "Who" and the King's Mirror was written for him so thought it was logical - but it ignored the shape numbers, roman numerals and squares so figured it wasn't enough of the hunt solved to try. Funny how that all works! Congratulations to the solver and also on the beautiful hunt.

Was there any significance to the colors on the symbols?

I have to share what my team had pulled together, since we found a really cool unintended path. We followed the intended path up through WRITTEN. We got Konung's Skuggsja but took that as a theme-appropriate instruction to mirror/flip the Roman numerals. With the numerals, we broke it into the intended three sections, XIXVI / XIXVII / XIXVIII, but we applied the following interpretations to each of those: XIXVI -> XIX V I -> Numbers to letters, SEA XIXVII -> XIX V II -> 19 5 2 -> 1952 XIXVIII -> XIX VII I -> Numbers to letters, SGA Since the hidden signature "Art of Hidden Messages" truncated the ticks for one of the S letters to make it an N, we did the same here for the S in SGA to make it NGA. That gave us WRITTEN, SEA, 1952, NGA. There is a painting called The Written Sea, painted in 1952, currently housed at the National Gallery of Art (NGA). It was painted by John Marin, whose surname is often interpreted as "of the sea." So we really thought we nailed it when we sent in "John Marin"!
