Oh boy. That sign is edited version of a Yemeni shipping company. Expect a visit from Homeland Security!

Oh man, we're all in the twilight zone, that extra day when we're supposed to leap.
I'm only good at leaping to the wrong conclusions, so give us a hint, retro.

There's an airplane in that picture, and with retro being retro, and hinting at "first", and birds, and a choice between left and right, maybe the Wright brothers could help us.

If the start and end splats are cities then we need the middle city in the loop.

"NY to LA" or "LA to NY" is the acrostic in the puzzle stanza and represents the endpoint cities of the path.
There is an airplane in the puzzle image above the path.
Hope that helps narrow down the hunt.

Don't be such a stinker, retro. Are we on the ground or in the air?

The left black dot represents LA. The right most black dot on the lines represents NY. And remember I didn't draw this path. I copied it from an online source.
You have to go back a few years to find the specific path that is no longer used.
Once you find out what the path is the stanza will help you narrow down where on the path the virtual coin is located.
