Well, the good news is that I'm almost certain I found the route.
The bad news is that I don't know what the number is or how to construct the answer from that riddle.

The left black dot represents LA. The right most black dot on the lines represents NY. And remember I didn't draw this path. I copied it from an online source. You have to go back a few years to find the specific path that is no longer used. Once you find out what the path is the stanza will help you narrow down where on the path the virtual coin is located. Psst, there are no black dots but get what you mean.

Flight paths can't be right. They are used all the time. Are the Seven Dwarves in the center?

@retro
Are any of the characters meant to be turned upside down?

Still no winner.
keep it simple, if the endpoint white dots are LA to NY the rest are likely American cities too between those two.
The first 4 stanza lines really will help you n arrow in on the coin location once you identify the path and read any related information.
A "noble bird" is a line from a movie to gain entrance somewhere but it also is a subtle confirmation towards airplanes

Here is everything I found. Hopefully it helps someone get to the coin: Lindbergh Line: An old LA to NY air route, the first of its kind, named after Charles Lindbergh whose nicknames included Lucky Lindy and LONE EAGLE (for his solo transatlantic flight)...Lindbergh piloted at least some of the inaugural flight, hence a noble bird led the way. This route was not profitable (passenger flight was a losing game back then) so most airlines took on government mail contracts. The most famous era of this is the CAM routes (Contracted Air Mail). The route from LA to NY was the last one added, followed the basic route of the Lindbergh Line, and was CAM#34 (3+4=7). The map of this route is the one in the puzzle image. These postal routes were given beacons to help navigate across the dark skies and the beacons were set on large arrows that were originally painted yellow. Amarillo TX is the dot on the route that is the left-most on the loop at the center. That loop was called the Amarillo-St.Louis airway. Looking for a start, call upon the Spaniards = find the Amarillo arrow? Note in the latest hint Retro "misspelled" narrow as "n arrow". Arrows for E-W routes faced East and for N-S routes they faced North. Now, how to construct the solution from that? Have at 'er! This is the part of these puzzles that I don't find very entertaining, the nitpicky slotting of bits into a template. The fun part (research and learning new things) is over for me lol. This one reminds me of the extra riddle from Breakfast Tea and Bourbon... I hated that one too Extra info just in case: Lindbergh started his private flying business career as a mail delivery service from Chicago to St.Louis. Chicago and St.Louis are both cities marked with dots in the Amarillo-St-Louis airway on the route map from the image, and both 7 letters. Wichita would be the other 7-letter city in that same area and marked on the route map. These CAMs existed from the late 1920s until the mid-1930s when they were ended due to a mail theft controversy. So these routes are no longer around. Govt. supplied Air Mail was started again but discontinued as a dedicated Govt. service in the 1970s. So either way, they no longer exist today (as CAM or simply air mail in general).

Here is everything I found. Is this not a competition? Why are you posting all this here? Revealing the solutions to most of the hunt's clues spoils the hunt for those still trying, and erases the hard-fought progress made by others. If I had known someone would publicly post all of this at the 11th hour, I would not have even started -- what is the point?

I mean, I could definitely be wrong.
Also, this is an open forum, so "because I felt like it" is enough of a reason.
You come here for discussions about the puzzle, so I think it's unreasonable to expect others to discuss only to the level of detail you'd like them to.

Dang it! Only just realized that the connections game has a hint at flight connections. Oh well, there are enough hints about flight.
Very nice, The Puzzler!
The next part could be real tricky.

I am still new to this hobby, so maybe once I have time to absorb the culture a bit I will understand the customs.

Dare I mention, that there is a certain "code" that has been used by some armchair teasure hunters, mostly those who have been participating in these hunts and forums for 20+ years. But that handbook seems to have been tossed out the window and anything goes. Some people have even tried to dictate their own rules for the searcher community. This is a touchy subject, and I hesitated to weigh in, but I am in agreement with forestblight. It is not in good taste to give (almost) full solutions when the hunt is still actively being worked on. It seems you were frustrated, gave up, and decided to also give up your information. If you truly wanted to help, you could just give nudges. That is my opinion. Thanks for the chance to express it.
