I have to agree with susb8383. Having been a michigander for 13 years, it is Mishigan.

I'll give it a shot also. Right or wrong, its a great idea. I have the gift/curse of perfect pitch. I say curse because anything slightly out of tune makes me cringe.

I like the tricky artist idea, but I have a very musical ear and I don't hear anything more than an octave skip in the synth.

I believe to call a us number you have to dial 001 not just 1 before the area code.

When I first suggested Dearborn, it was just a moment of inspiration. While it kind of fits, I am surprised at how many people have ran with it. I wish I had another thought on it, but i don't. I am very open to new ideas on this one.

Just watched the movie "ready player one" last night. This is mentioned as one of his favorite novels. I am not sure if there is a direct clue in the movie or not, but the entire "hunt" seems to be heavily influenced by it. The theme of the movie is about finding and turning 3 keys to find the hidden Easter egg within the construct of a massive video game. (very brief synopsis). A big theme in the movie is about friendships developed between the 5 main characters.

curious that one of the words is budapest and we had both come up with budapest as the ip address location obtained from converting the theoretical hex code into an ip address. However, this seems like merely an interesting coincidence to me.

I have a lot of musical knowledge. I think these pointing to a melody is the wrong path, but I certainly could be wrong. I also have some knowledge of binary etc. and lean towards these being hexadecimal numbers, however, we have been down that path with no solution yet either. I very much appreciate all you are putting into this, and you have posted a lot for us to think about it.

i believe it was mentioned he was from Holland michigan in comments somewhere, either on youtube, facebook, or 6 questions. i lived in michigan for 13 years. it was very commonly called the mitten (not the mitten state). if you ask anyone from michigan what part they are from, they will hold up their hand with four fingers together and their thumb spread out, and point to that part their hand. The mitten of course, doesn't include the upper peninsula commonly called "da u.p."
wtmi about michigan!

You've really done your homework. The c4 f5 etc. so seems like hexadecimal to me, but it doesn't really fit anywhere. As far as them being musical notes, I have a long musical background, and I can't make heads or tails out of those notes either. The skip between c4 and f5 is not very typical for a common melody line.
