It is not "WAS FOY", but "WAS FOT".

Hey guys, this is Mike. I'm the person who solved the Dead Man's Gold treasure hunt. Happy to answer any questions you may have about the solution. Hello! And welcome to the forum! I hope we will see you actively participate in other treasure hunts. Was this your first treasure hunt? If not, what other hunts have you done? How many botg trips did you make before you found this treasure? Do you plan on doing their next hunt?

youtu.be/GgQG4MqNslkThe final solution has been posted. I feel that the first half was good. It followed historical records and maps. But the second half was a bit convoluted. The 301 degrees clue gives a direction but not a distance. A person really would not have known where the next "turn" should be. The drawing was not much help. A lot of the 2nd half of the solution would have been guess work, with no real confirmers, just trial and error until you found the treasure. The pools were possibly a confirmer/hint. But this area is dangerous. It would have been best to avoid this area. I didn't like the inclusion of "enchanting", because of the close proximity of the Grand Enchantment Trail. You say it wasn't an intentional red herring, but if you are researching that area, you would know of the trail's existence. It was very misleading. I thought there might be some codes and ciphers in the text, but apparently there were not. What was the reason for the text that was "erased"? Good job for a first time treasure hunt. But there is some room for improvement.

It seemed as though on the Cow interview, you wouldn't announce it until you got in touch with your brother. Thanks for clarifying.
It would be nice to hear from the winner...even if it were just a post. Was this his first treasure hunt? How many botg trips did he make? Does he participate in any forums?
Still awaiting the solution...

I don't participate in the zooms, neither does anyone in my group.
We just did a lot of research using old Arizona Territory maps and articles like the one I posted.
I thought that the blurred out words might be some sort of code, and spent a lot of time on that, but it doesn't appear that was the case.

I do have one remaining question for Beth. What did "Did I mention I love pie" in your hint mean? I thought for sure that was directing us to the bakeries.[/quotel] I'm trying hard to remember...I know it had something to do with the postcards that are pictured. But I can't recall what it was. I'll take a look...

Yes. This is the correct solution for the number pyramid. So the correct solution was on the boards already. Even if the reason behind it was incorrect… On May 12th, I offered to confirm the answers to 2 or 3 of the mini puzzles. I have not seen this solution on the boards until today, when I confirmed that it was correct. I have seen it listed as one of the possible solutions, but not THE solution. Can you point out where someone posted this as an answer? And just to note, I never requested that a reason be given when you submit an answer.

No one has gotten the number pyramid correct in your posts. Just to be clear: my answer was Pi Day which was derived by using 1636. Are you saying that number is incorrect or just what it means, or both? Both. It is not 1636. It is not pi or pie or Pi Day.
