My reply to Iceman in the blog section here: mysteriouswritings.com/featured-question-with-forrest-fenn-and-the-thrill-of-the-chase-treasure-hunt-decisions/#comment-250926Actually, Iceman, that post means something else in my opinion. Let me explain. Remember “The Little Girl From India”? Now lets proceed… In the Double Charmed post, mysteriouswritings.com/six-questions-with-forrest-fenn-and-the-thrill-of-the-chase-treasure-hunt-double-charmed/ , there’s that “double charmed”. But the meaning has to wait for what else is in that post to understand it. Forrest says: 1) “I enjoy wondering how my life would be different if I had taken more detours when they were available to me.” Detours. I’ll explain as we get to it. 2) “It was rebuilt and my father added a 2-car garage” 2-car garage, again I’ll explain when we get to it. 3) “All that remains now are the cement front porch, the garage, and a few pecan trees.” Here’s where we start getting some answers. The cement front porch is the 1st clue location. It’s “begin it where”. The garage is where the treasure rests. The pecan trees are all that’s in between. Pecan nuts have two halves, representing the possible different directions you can go at each location on the way to the “garage”. The “detours”. And the garage is a 2-car garage. 2 sedans, or trips. There are two treasure resting places, two treasures. The “double charmed”. mysteriouswritings.proboards.com/thread/1250/2-treasure-chests-convinced-evidenceBut I’m not done. Now lets look at the Little Girl From India. In this other “6 Questions” mysteriouswritings.com/six-questions-with-forrest-fenn-over-five-years-of-the-thrill-of-the-chase/There, Jenny asks: “Can a little girl in India, who speaks good English, but only has your poem and a map of the US Rocky Mountains, work out where the treasure is? ” And Forrest answers: “I wish I had another treasure to hide in the Appalachians. The little girl in India cannot get closer than the first two clues.” In the “double charmed” post linked above, Jenny asks about another kid. The East Coast Kid. “But I wonder do you feel a person with ONLY imagination or ONLY knowledge is more apt to solve your poem? For instance, an Kid living on the East Coast might have an amazing imagination, but not much knowledge about the Rockies.” Forrest replies: “It helps to know something about Rocky Mountain geography when making plans to search for my treasure. Rocking chair ideas can lead one to the first few clues,” Do you see the strong similarities between these two kid questions? Forrest on the East Coast Kid: “lead one to the first few clues,” Forrest on the Little Girl From India: “cannot get closer than the first two clues.” The Little Girl From India is directly connected somehow to the start of the solve, and so is the East Coast kid. So we have: 1) Double Charmed” 2) detours, or divisions, the two sides of a pecan nut. 3) 2 cars, or trips to “the location” that’s actually two. 4) 2 kids. Distinctly different. And two treasures. Ok I want to start off by saying these are some of the best thoughts I have read on the Chase in a long time. Consider yourselves in the wood(applause, poetic). Secondly, the two's, the tying, etc. are all hints to the mechanism. Of course I won't list the actual instances within the solve but I will give an example. Once you understand the sentence before the poem you will eventually get to the first clue, I won't use the 'wwwh' term again. It does you no favors to think of it in that way. It backs you into a corner mentally. Containing? What does it mean? The mechanism is the tying together of two separate ideas found in book, Q/A's, other comments, videos, etc. He uses it all as part of the hunt, hear me all, and one has to be careful to not assume what the hints are. The poem has to lead you there. Another mechanism within the overall puzzle is the square knot, tie the end of one word to the beginning of another: face den one ate mini - you will find TWO messages - cede none eat Tim. Poor example and the message needs to contain two references to his other puzzle pieces. Ex: brawl song weds cold eatery. It will be your job to discover that halt in place of stall in Stout-hearted men is an aberration and a herring and that the real clue is "starting at ten and ending up at four(uses FOR)" is the real half clue and that cold eatery is Totem Cafe Caper and the hint is counter(summer) and he made a sound like a garbage truck backing up(shout out here for one of you). You then put together 10>4 + backward/counter. The answer is counter clockwise + stall = whatever and you apply to poem. Keep in mind this is not an actual example and his clues are more clear and straightforward. They are easier to see once you get the first mechanism. It's visual and shape. You then apply to poem and map. Don't waste anytime on this, it's an example but a well thought one. Ok the stall is important, I lied. Not all of the poem is used in the mechanism or tool box, but all of the poem is used to locate it. Also keep in mind the synonym piece, RT and Rah have had this for awhile and holds water. Any synonym for tying together is of utmost importance, wed, bind, adjoin, glue, joint, etc. Square knot: change, tie, take in(see, understand) and map.

That is superb research, BB, and I think you've nailed the real meaning behind two treasures. I don't think there are two physical treasures, but that the chest is symbolic of something that goes much deeper. Your getting close with the horse idea. It won't be what you expect. Line 1/2 of poem is the 1/4 of the square knot. There is only ONE spot in book where it applies perfectly. His last Q/A he mentioned Phoenix. This is a hint to either the last or next to last clue. It narrowed down my area. Two halves of the solve, two's, twins, etc. Line 1 tells you this "as I halve". As means during. You are doing two things AT ONCE. As I did this I also did that. Listen good, so easy to know it's homonyms but you may miss that train as it passes by. Self referential. There is not two treasure chests, but there is two treasures indeed. Sew in wrapping up, this is a visual treasure hunt and a word puzzle. He wished for D's, to see K, L is en, etc. He told us how to solve it in his string/square knot story, the sentence before poem, stanza 4+ and Teachers with Ropes.

3 = 3 stones turned over? Interesting. That's worth keeping in mind and a lookout for additional hints to. Especially in light of FF's use of archaic measures like links. Yup...and 3.14 is pi....twice, two pi's, tau.....enjoy! Yes but tau most likely isn't part of the solve for its relatively new application as being 2*pi. Approx 2001 but not published until 2009 in Manifesto blah blah. Fenn didn't need math to get his puzzle built, he used letters and pictures together.

It is an interesting thought on two treasure chest but my belief is still that there is one, but an open mind I will keep. A ball of string is called a "clew" A clue can also be spelled clew. If you tied on 3 strings a day for a year, how many strings would you have? 1095. At what molecular angle does warm waters halt? 109.5....................... Yes, I agree that that's strong evidence for ice or snow. That's just a question of moving the point, too. Now I have to go read your post on periods/points again, lol. or just 32 is where water starts to freeze. And there are waters.

When he uses a word with -tion in it he is pointing somewhere. Parse not just the answers but the questions also, he may have gone alone into the Q/A's. His hints may be bold and right under your nose. "I wonder", he likes the word 'wonder' one under. 31/1=31, understand? Under stand in deed. Watch for words within pairs(dual, Two's, it's) of words. Initialisms, beheadments(poor execution), etc. This puzzle wasnt created in a vacuum free of outside knowledge. He put his own 'spin' on it four sure. Marry, meld, halve, sew, hew, see, hold, *wer. Where to end this is where we start like TS implied and Misdirecshin exists in your head mostly.

How can you be brave and in the wood at the same time? If you can't be at both at the same time, then logic might say there are two treasures. Twice in one afternoon.

Evidence is leading me to this conviction that there are, indeed, two treasure chests hidden out there. Let me go through a few things, but understand that I'm not showing even more things I have found because you all are too smart for your own good (in this scenario). Most of this is centered around OH!'s recent comments. I'm not saying anything negative about his solve here, he's got some good stuff going there. But it's the recent stuff that is foremost in my memory, and the work I've put into it is in the front of my brain. I have had many other things that made me wonder about a second treasure, just as most have. - The two Omega signs. - The two books and the two hats, both covers colored alike. - And many other things. My apologies to OH! for putting him at the forefront here, it's just a timing thing. But he's stumbled gracefully onto more than just his solve. Lets start with the 42# and 44# treasure chest comments. mysteriouswritings.proboards.com/thread/1242/42lb-chest-44lb This is no coincidence of mistakes. FF's mistakes turn out to be hints or directions to hints. - Notice that in the case of the 42# comments, he just says "box full of gold" (and in particular the word "box") with no mention of jewels or other things. - Where as in the case of the 44# comments, he does add "precious gems". The same term in both cases. And in this 44# case he also uses the words "treasure chest". This is too much leading in one direction, that they are two separate things. Two treasures. But there's more. Much more. The picture of the treasure chest on page 3 of TTOTC (The Thrill Of The Chase, for those who are new). From OH!'s solve... ibb.co/bUCKMG The last picture is the one we're talking about. That's a Kodak film picture frame around the picture of the treasure chest. He had to blow it up and reverse it in a mirror to see this. (Fantastic work, btw, OH!) Now, Kodak is also famous for developing the "twin lens camera". This is the old fashioned camera where you could either hold the camera up at your eye, or you could look through the "twin" lens down at your waste. Kodak accomplished this by use of mirrors. From there, lets look at the number 109 (shown in that revelation). If you go to page 109 in both books, you'll see "ropes" in the sketches. Sure, one's a cable, but a little poetic license is allowed. Rope like strings from a ball of string woven like braids. This is a clue to using both books, as they link the hints together. FF spent those 15 years wisely, it seems. In the book, TFTW (Too Far To Walk) on page 109, the thing here is in the story. That FF made it home to be with his family. More on that as I go along. #109 is a prime number. And it has a twin prime number, 107. And if you go to page 107 of TTOTC, you'll find the picture of FF's daughters ( family), the one that causes many to ask if they are twins. We know they are not, but there are two of them and that's what is the important thing in this hint. (Page 107 of TFTW is more obscure to me, but he talks about 2 choices?) I'll add here that on page 45 of TFTW there's a picture of FF's mother ( family) and her twin sister. I do have something that leads me to this page, but I don't want to show that source material because it also has something I'm afraid to lead you all to. Sorry. Now lets go back to where we started, at page 3 of TTOTC. If you go to page 3 of TFTW (the other book), you'll find a picture of the family home. Another sort of treasure chest, if you will. Now, the number 3 is also a prime number. And it also has a twin prime. That is number 5. If you go to page 5 of TFTW, you'll find a picture of FF's childhood toys. TWO treasures. The cable and rope and the ball of string.IMO this tells me there will be power lines close to the TC.

Two modes of transportation possibly exist involving either a rail car, and/or ski resort tram along with the sedan.

Guys and gals, too early to be speculating such ideas. The poem must be solved, reduced and jump into wwwh, 100+32, page the poem is on. You must abridge to win clues then sum deep thought and instinct on next step. It gets easier after 2 clues.

If I'm correct, there are two treasures - both at the resting place of the chest.....when you find one, you can find the other.
