I think I found him. He at least seems to be wearing the same socks.

I even thought he may be a train conductor because the circle he is attached to is a double line like a train track. The City Park NOLA Express runs all the way around New Orleans' City Park. I don't know if the drivers ever dressed like that. I keep going back to those argyle socks, they just say golfer to me, unless he is a combination golfer/conductor, because there is also a golf course nearby.

Seem to be quite a few Storyland/City Park clues so been focused there lately. The White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland has the same part of his pocket watch covered as in Image 7, 7 o’clock area covered in both. Only 3 stand watch could be either 3 little pigs or the 3 figures out at the gate (Humpty Dumpty and Lil Bo-Peep with her sheep). On the arm in Image 7 can see C I T Y from top to bottom so like that as a City Park confirmer. The arm itself reminds me of the wolf from Little Red Riding Hood dressed in grandma’s nightgown. As an added bonus Little Red Riding Hood is probably the most famous fable of FRENCH origin.

I looked up several pictures of the white rabbit and the same area of the watch was covered each time. Must be like a trademark or something. Welcome to the hunt!

Checkout the clock at Storyland. There is a mouse running up the side of the clock. In image 7 there is a footprint beside the clock that could be from a mouse.

I’d be curious to know which features at Storyland are original and which have been added more recently as my understanding is that there is a mix of both. That way we could discard the new ones and focus on just those that were around in the early 80s.

A lot of it you can tell the old version from the new repainted versions so you know they are original. There is an old map of Storyland online that shows and lists all the original features. I have a copy if anyone needs it.

Is this close enough Sluggo? goo.gl/maps/K5CrKfF2xjizhBfs5goo.gl/maps/5VpxUZAQeLUmbCMX9This might've been the backdrop then. Note the fruits and vegetable tiles similar to the image in the book with full moon and vegetables on checkerboard table cloth. The statue wasn't installed then.

A couple of local features correlation with image 7: Going with the assumption that the flying boy is Peter Pan (St. Peter St.) AND a weathervane (middle cupola of Cafe Dumonde). Seconds hand of the clock points to 14 seconds. 14 seconds direction from both locations point to the same spot.

The first picture with flags tiles is the older picture likely from 1990s or early 2000. The other garden backdrop is current. I was hoping a local searcher could find a picture of that area from 1980s at the library and share. There are other hints to Jackson Square area in the image i.e. XP where XII is at 12 o'clock. XP or Chi-Rho (pronounced Kai-Ro) is first two letters of Jesus' name commonly used by Catholic church. St Louis Cathedral is at 12 o'clock position of the Jackson Square. Clock hands make a cross right on top of the Chi-Rho. Another fun content: The two arrows point to P and N in preservation. Read from P to N horizontally. You get P XII N. X is Chi in Greek. So you get P CHIII N. Times-Picayune.
