Who is going to help you?
Where are you going to find him?
That should be hints enough for most people to work it out.
Anyhow, frustration has struck again, and I went on an yet another impossible mission
Strange That I have had no casting directors from Hollywood trying to contact me.

, I certainly have the experience and repertoire for the job at this stage.
Anyhow faced with a cipher that seems to make no sense or not recognisable as one of the commonly know ciphers I decided I would have a another serious play in excel.
I tried converting the number to modulus values.
28 would wrap around the alphabet again to become a value of 2 translated as a B
-2 would wrap backwards to become a value 24 translated as a Y
This unfortunately results in gibberish and so is a dead end.
I have two possible candidates for a book. Unfortunately books have many pages so picking the right page is difficult especially if you cannot see a solid clue as to which one to use.
One book had a verse. So I decide to use the modulus values of the cipher key to identify the n'th letter dependent on what the cipher gave. no luck
Not deterred I decided to try the n'th word still no luck.
Then I had the idea that you start with a specific page and transpose each character by the position dictated by the cipher.
If the first letter on the page was D an the first number in the cipher was -2 the answer should be B and this should be the first letter of the deciphered text.
Not surprisingly this did not work either.
However this seems to be a far more promising solution to the problem, the issue being starting with the correct text to use as the 'book' of a book cipher.
Have I found a solution or come close no.
But after spending the best part of a day building a spreadsheet that would work out as many combinations of a book cipher that I can see as possible I see no point in everyone else having to torture themselves going through the same process.
Imagine the cipher gives a value of 70, that would require you to count 70 character into the the 'book' or page in order to find the correct character. now do that for multiple values and you can see what a royal pain in the the Ar$e that would be.
I cant share that spreadsheet with you, Even if I could I didint title the columns for them to be meaningful. but I can explain what formula in excel you should use for a specific purpose, at this stage I think I have covered most if not all possibilities.
Now all I have to do is find the right 'book' or page.
simple's

. Well maybe not. But who said Lukas did simple.
Anyhow if you do want help on how to use excel formula's to simplify decoding a text, once you have found the right one of course, I am am happy to help just shoot me a PM.
Of course I might have gone off into the wilderness and be completely and utterly wrong that it is anything related to a book cipher.
The offer is there any how.
