Mine was the Buffalo Bill Reservoir. It fit the bill for me in so many ways I could never get away from it. I felt strongly that Buffalo Bill was involved. Buffalo Bill had to have been an amazing figure for Forrest to admire, he mentions going to the museum every year since he was a baby, yet Buffalo Bill himself is hardly ever mentioned despite Forrest being on the Board of Trustees at the Buffalo Bill Center ( middle?) Of the West. See this description of the sculpture of Cody in Cody Vic Payne and the art show and sale donated “Born Under a Wandering Star” to the city. “It is our desire that the whole town of Cody has ownership of this sculptural bench of Buffalo Bill Cody,” the agreement reads. Payne portrayed Buffalo Bill in one of his Wild West show coats, waiting patiently for the viewer to sit alongside him on a functional 5-foot-long bench. Buffalo Bill’s quote, “I could never resist the call of the trail,” is inscribed on the reverse side of the bench, inspiring the sculpture’s name. So many Forrest references there and so much more if you dig into it. I was actually looking elsewhere when I found my blaze on the map that made me look at Cody... also the Buffalo in Buffalo Cowboys chapter was named Cody... a hint, not a clue?

In one of Buffalo Bills sisters books it talks about him being chased on horseback and uses the term "thrill of the chase". I spent a lot of time on the Buffalo Bill angle.

Sooo many things were connected to him! I found it suspect also that Forrest didn't mention him much although he mentions many other famous historical figures of that time period. It would also explain the Denver connection.
